Hi! Thank you! But I'm on my 249th post, so I've been in the family for quite a while now,

 

This is one of the best songs about addiction and recovery that I've heard. The lyrics are profound to me:

Here's another one from RED that's pretty fitting. The lyrics describe the illusion of addiction--how self-medicating can feel soothing, even though it's the thing that's destroying you. The video is, quite literally, about being in a battle with yourself:

I never listen to music with lyrics. I'm paranoid when it comes to songs, lol. But, I've always listened to scores and soundtracks. Orchestral music just gets my mind off things and makes me more creative. So my Pandora is filled with John Williams, Joe Hisaishi, Jerry Goldsmith, Jeremy Soule, etc. etc.

Also if you've never researched it before, there's a topic of listening to your music at 432 hz, instead of 440 hz. It's really interesting stuff! Here's some links:

Toy Soldiers by Martika. She wrote this song about a friend battling cocaine addiction, but I believe it can be applied to any type of addiction.

This is such a creative thread. Music is a love of mine, and to incorporate something I love to help with something that I have an issue with, is very helpful. Thanks for starting this thread and the best of luck to you all!

 

I've also made an inspirational, non-sexual playlist and I find it's been keeping me focused. Music is also a huge part of my life so it definitely influences my PMO habits.

 

Use headphones while lying down. Breathe deeply throughout into your abdomen. You will notice profound changes if you listen to this in entirety several times per week.
