No masturbation, but yes watch porn

    I'm trying this, I'm on day 6.

    I think that if you watch porn and don't touch yourself maybe you can be more strong than don't watch it, but just after a long time of apllication (for example 30days).

    It's a personal theory. In this day it's very very hard to abstain to touch myself when I watch porn, but I do it.

    I will continue, if someone is interested on this post please tell me, so I will update you.

    Bad idea. Your brain will still release dopamine even if you're not touching yourself. By watching P are reinforcing the same neural pathways you are trying to weaken

    Ya, if you're having PMO issues, doing no P without the rest will be easier than no PMO, but in my opinion watching P at this stage is really going to lengthen your recovery period. So 30 days of P with no MO may be equivalent to something like 300 days of no PMO for your recovery experience. I have no idea if those numbers are anywhere near reality, but I suspect they are somewhat in the ballpark.

    If you continue with your plan please update us. I for one would be really interested in how it works out for you :)

  9. There's no reason to watch it in the first place mate.

    The brain craves dopamine and when you O with P you get a flood of it, but even just watching P itself triggers a similar response to dopamine. So by stopping O and just watching P your brain is still getting its unhealthy dopamine fix, the only solution is to stop both of them to let your brain heal from constant overload.

    I understand that you will be using willpower to not masturbate but don't know why you would want to continue with feeding into porn.

    What is your main goal for doing this?

    For me the hardest part of no PMO is the abstain from touch my self. I can do without problem in the first two week (I have done several times); so I try to resist from day 0 maybe something change. I'm searching the easiest way to arrive at the goal of long period of abstain from ejaculation.
     
  15. Try to abstain from porn 90 days straight. If you manage to pull it off all at once, without any problem. Congratulations, you would have all the power to watch porn without masturbating, and progress way faster than anyone else here. If not, you'd be in same problem fooling yourself over and over again.

    What you said above can be compared as if an alcoholic that loves to drink beer and smoke cigarettes together said that he'll drop the cigarette habit but increase the beer dose. In the end, he might not like the taste of beer itself, so he might get back to old habit of smoking cigarettes AND drinking beer, or he'll just worsen the addiction by increasing the beer intake dose.

    To me you sound like you're not ready to take initiation to break free from addiction and are only delusional and fooling yourself that there are shortcuts to make it. But, in the end you said you want to try it, go ahead and try it, i've been here for a long time - You're not the only person who tried this and it did not work out. :)

    You shouldn't watch porn if you're doing a MO challenge.

    1. There is no point to it, really. You are only feeding one addiction, and frankly it's the most unnatural addiction.

    2. P is a trigger for MO, so it's best to avoid it at all costs of doing the challenge. Yes, it takes more energy to avoid MO with watching P than with not watching it, and that's exactly why it isn't a good path to be on.

    I don't know, it's very simplify problem that you expose... I think that I have the habit of porno because I masturbate on that.

    I think that the right example is this: someone that stops to smoke but he remains to watch other people smoke around him.

  20. Incorrect. By watching porn YOU would engage in addictive behavior. You would not watch someone else watching porn.
    You'll just worsen the things by just watching the porn, since masturbation is usually some bound where you'd stop watching porn for short period of time. Your brain wiil just get an endless dopamine rush and you'll get stuck in the same circle again, you'll end up either more wrecked by porn or your cravings to masturbate will be bigger.

    If you didn't found pornography disgusting in the first place, and thus you would not be addicted which leads us to conclusion you would not be on this forum, right ? Its actually explained and already determined why such thing wont work on yourbrainonporn.com - But hey, if you think you'd be better of by making up short cuts, see it for yourself...
