I relapsed yesterday. Why? Because I had this recurring porn scene in my mind so after a few hours I said, let's watch this scene for a few a seconds and that's it. I ended up watching porn as usual and relapsed.

There is no "few seconds" or just a "little look". If you open the page you've already relapsed.

This is the biggest reason of my relapses. I see something triggering so I keep playing my luck and going deeper and deeper. Almost happened today, closed the window before the tab loaded (the tab was still all white).

I completely agree. There is no "little bit" when it comes to an addiction. "Well, I'm just gonna have a little bit of heroin."
Hahaha, yeah, ok. Have fun with that. Keep lying to yourself.

Any advice on how to handle this persistent thoughts? I'm thinking about meditation when this happens. I meditate regularly so this is not an issue.

I don't have much experience with meditation, but what I would say is to keep yourself busy and forget it. OBVIOUSLY, this is much harder to do than to say it.

Also, thoughts gain more power the more you focus on them. If you get a random image in your mind, you have about 3 seconds to forget it, either by doing something else or forcibly thinking about something else. If you linger on to the thought, it will be really hard to get it out. I couldn't get one out for 2 days, even after relapsing. And everytime from then on, the image is a trigger for me (it's a normal profile picture lol).
So keep your mind clean!! Don't give the thoughts more power! The more you practice this, the better you will get at it.

As soon as you feel triggered, before you get on your laptop, or anytime of the day... do this...

The actual EFT - Emotional freedom technique takes less then 5 minutes. I know it's weird but it works! I was home alone when I woke up today, my computer has no porn filter, I was having some cravings, did this once I went on my laptop, all good, haven't relapsed yet

  7. Don't say that "I haven't relapsed yet"... Be positive and declare that "I haven't relapsed and will not relapse".

  8. I just tried this and you're right it's strange but it works. Thanks you!

  9. Physical activity helps me. Go to the gym for a great rush of feeling good and putting all that extra energy to use. When I go to the gym I usually don't have much of an urge as I'm too tired and feel so glad about going and challenging myself. Also try just going out for a walk it clears your lungs and your mind.

I've been rolling around on my skateboard to help clear my head whenever I can get the chance. I also have been drawing as well. Also keeping a good workout routine helps.

I have had a lot of relapses that start out with a little compromise like scanning some images, not P yet, then I will get agitated with myself for the little mistake or feel like it's too late I failed already and then go all the way.

It's a hard thing to recover from that behavior once you give in a little, I agree with the guys that say to resist right away. Even with thoughts you have to resist right away.

Unfortunately even though I know that I am still not perfect at it, and I want to get better at forgiving myself for small mistakes and avoiding big relapses.

Just think, the more you resist and stay strong, the less you're gonna have to forgive yourself and aren't you sick of forgiving yourself already? I know I am. I'm only on day 1. Made to 5 days 3 times and 9 once. I'm just so sick of this addiction. I'm also gonna stop drinking because it makes me weak and then I do stupid things, like PMO!

  13. It's tough after you peek or compromise with your brain in a vain attempt to satisfy the cravings but all you're doing is creating pitfalls for yourself. The reboot will be much easier if you can avoid the temptation to peek as that's always been my downfall. First you peek then you try and stop to only later convince yourself that you've ruined it all and might as well as PMO which makes the problem so much worse.

  14. Exactly! Once I made it to 10 days and when I relapsed I found out I didn't even enjoy the porn I relapsed to! I spent more time laughing at it than actually PMOing. Those urges are tough sometimes but they're a sign the reboot is working. Urges are just weakness leaving the body.

If you think about porn it's already you are on the verge of relapse. If you watch porn or edge 99% you will relapse. Once the insane amount of dopamines start dripping to your brain it's hard to control your action after that. Your power of will get weakened and you can't say no to porn. Best luck to you man and learn from your mistakes.

  16. Just like the alcoholic who convinces himself he's just going to visit the bar to have a chat with his pal the barman, and walks out of a hospital. Good on you though for recognising your thought process that lead to the relapse.

I just relapsed earlier today, and it was because I was searching for people that I once masturbated to just to see what they're doing now, and to see them as human beings, not as the sexual objects that I used to see them as or that they present themselves as. I made the mistake of going deeper into their photos, saw the same picture that I used to masturbate to, and I was immediately triggered. I had an episode later that is supposed to be unrelated to my addiction.... then I gave in and relapsed.

I really have to discipline myself and remind myself not to search for people, even with good intentions.
