Whats the 7th day like?

    What's the 7th day like without masturbation? I'm about 3 days in and I've had some temptations and I had to resort to edging to release some of the sexual energy this morning. But I want to know what the 7th day is like because I heard that you have a big testosterone spike which makes it one of the hardest days to resist.

    You'll feel what you felt this morning except probably twice as intense and it will hit you throughout the day. Sometimes it's frustrating but i also feel i can "channel" the intense sexual energy into a workout or getting shit done instead. Edging 100% always makes it worse. Sometimes it lingers into the 8th day too .. this is coming from someone who nofaps on and off so I've been through a lot of "day 7s".

    advice .. utilize cold showers and/or make sure to work out hard on these days so you can fall asleep easier at night - reduced relapse risk .. and stay occupied (very important) don't chill around the house. Your bored mind will literally be more clever to get you to cave / rationalize. And don't let your guard down when you get through day 7...random days later on will hit you hard too. Good luck!

    Stop edging. It isn't sexual energy. That is a lie being told to you by your addiction. What you are feeling are urges and the best way to combat them is to move on. Get out of the situation you are in (get out of bed/get out of the shower/get up out of your chair/leave the room), stop touching yourself, focus your mind on the here and now, on a task that requires your full attention.

    I don't know if the testosterone spike is a scientific fact, but the 7th day has significance because you find yourself in the same place of the week as you were when you last fapped. your weekly routine probably put you in the same situation.

    The trick to the 7th day is to remind yourself where you were 1 week ago. Remind yourself that 1 week ago you did something that you found so abhorrent that you decided to get rid of it forever. 1 week ago you made a decision that was so important that you have been focused on it for 7 days. When was the last time something was that important that you put so much daily work into it? Focus on your motivations. Write them down. Tell people about what brought you here. Tell people how you felt when you realised you were an addict. Tell people what sort of person you hope to be by kicking the PMO habit. In telling people you reaffirm it to yourself.

    Fantastic - so clear and unequivocal. The mind plays very subtle tricks and we've got to constantly remind ourselves this isn't a game, it's not a decision we took casually and it's not for messing about with.

    From another context I got this quote which I think captures the seriousness of the situation:

    "We're in a very real war, the stakes are high, the enemy skilled, armed, and determined. The possibility of losing is real. You must be aware of what's happening and be prepared to fight."

    Sort of focuses the mind doesn't it...

    i've had day 7's where i feel fantastic, mind clear, full of energy. i've also had day 7's where i feel no better than day 1.
