    Hey guys,

I am glad I made my challenge. :)

The changes I experienced until now were for the most part:
less brain fog, more energy, more self esteem, which also meant no social anxiety anymore (like going out of the house, meeting people you know and not knowing why you act so damn insecure).

Now I noticed I was already thinking: Why not masturbate without Porn now?
I mean, I will not stay away from masturbation for ever.
But when is the time, to get back to a healthy sexlife?

Probably I should do another 60days to see, what additional positive effects might apppear..
But when do I know I am cured?

What do you think about all that?

I don’t want to bring bad news but for me the ‘cure’ just hasn’t come. After 30, 90, 180, or even 365 days I still have moments where resisting porn is so so hard. I’ve stopped thinking of ‘no masturbation’ as a reboot but as a technique that helps me abstain from pornography. Like you I fully expected to go back to masturbating without porn when I had conquered my addiction. Now I cannot see that ever happening. Sorry.

You have done such a great job already! Whichever you decide to do, just be careful. This issue has always been a never ending cycle for me, going from happiness to self regrete.

Well, what is a healthy sexlife? Is masturbation a sign of it? I don’t condemn M in general. But isn’t it better to have a real sex life with a real partner? And if a healthy sexual relationship with a partner is there, is there still the need to masturbate? I’m not sure. The other thing is, most of the people here have or had a PM addiction. If you had an addiction it might be better to stop that addiction thing completely. I suppose that if I would restart the M, it wouldn’t take much time and the P would automatically follow. But everyone is different.

These are great gifts! Don’t you think you achieved them because of no M and not just because of no P?

Since 30 days are not a big big streak I’d indeed recommend to continue. Nevertheless I agree with @kropo82 that just boosting the counter doesn’t automatically change everything.

In general I think trying is better than thinking what might be. If you feel like going on, do it. If you feel like restarting the M, do this. If it leads to a P relapse you can still come back to nofap. If you once hit the 30 you’ll probably be able to hit the 30 again…or then the 60, 90 or whatever.

I wish you all the best for your decision and for your further way in General!

Thx guys for your input. I will have to think about it deeply. The only thing I dont want to do is masturbating as a result of an accident (unconscious). If I masturbate I will do it on purpose and with a clear mind.

Thats a tough one. Im sure both has impact on it.
Before this challenge I experimented with masturbating without any images whatsoever (also not in my mind).
And from my experience that did not cause as much negative effects than doing it with porn.

But the final answer to this will come when I will start doing M again without porn (hopefully as a regular post addiction behaviour). Although having a partner would be way better of course. But Im working on that too.

"Why not masturbate without Porn now?" How will that help you become the best version of yourself?
"I mean, I will not stay away from masturbation for ever." How will this benefit you in the long run?
But when is the time, to get back to a healthy sexlife? In my opinion, getting married is ok. If you want to hook tens of women, it's your decision.

    Congrats on your progress!

Just wanted to caution about the M thoughts. That line of thinking is what led to my SO's relapse. His addict mind led him to rationalize "just" M without fantasy or P. M led to seeking images which led to more MO which led to P without MO which led to PM which led to MO. I wonder if that could be the addict brain trying to fool you like it was for him. As my SO's therapist has said, "While we're in here doing group therapy, your addiction is out in the parking lot doing push-ups and sit-ups."

    Thx for those insights Torn.
On the one hand this helps me with making my decision, on the other hand I think I probably have to experience it myself (as dumb as that sounds). I mean, now I am at only 30 days. If i do M now and notice I come back to Porn, it would not be as bad as when I would do it after 180 days or more. So better getting myself to know earlier and (probably) realising that im still addicted plus starting a lifelong habit of no M, than relapsing later.

    Hi joey0411,

    Congratulations on your 30 days.
If you want to do M again or not, you have to decide.

At my first PMO trail I managed 28 days. Then I masturbated. On the next day I saw P videos again.
I think that 30 days is not enough to defeat the addiction.

In my second PMO trial, the worst days were between day 50 and 60.
Since the 60th day is much better.

I want to continue and reach day 90. I want to be free from the addiction to PMO:

All the best and good luck.

there,s no cure as such only management jst like someone with heart disease or diabetes needs to live his life a certain way, we porn addicts have to abstain from behaviours that remind our brain to how pmo was soo good. i dont recommend masturbation because for me that movement of my hand over my penis reminds me of how i loved fapping to porn.
it have decided to only start and continue with real sex when i reach my 90 day mark.

If you keep thinking about masturbation sooner or later you will reintroduce porn in your life. You just passed your 30 days and you already think, why not masturbate but without porn. I think its a very dangerous mind set.

  17. Honestly why even masterbate??
Protect that semen for some other human, its time you stopped wasting it on your screen/hand/floor/washroom. And there are literally tons of benefits of semen retention, just read it out online. It will hopefully motivate you to save it for your body and real-life sex only. Good luck :)

I have committed to no masturbation. I believe masturbation, even without Porn , will lead to relapse. Porn free since march 11, 2016 and masturbation free since march 2, 2017.

I am just wondering for who said you will not cure! If you stay away from anything such as addiction for longtime you will forget it you will have a new habits you will have a new life.
