Wet dreams are a natural and normal bodily function and not harmful the way fapping to porn is. On a 40 day streak (congrats btw) I'm not surprised you are having them.

    wet dreams = recovery

Some people never get them because they have been MOing their entire life.

    Physicist,

I think you are correct on both points. A wet dream = Recovery. I also think you are right on the second point: If we have abused our bodies for so long we don't see a wet dream.

I wish you were wrong. But I believe you are right. Thus, in my case, I very, very much hope to see a wet dream. I will assuredly see it as a sign of recovery.

I haven't had a wet dream in decades. A sure sign of too much fapping.

Wet dream will happen. They are natural. They have happened to men over thousands of years.

OP might feel that wet dreams drain his energy, which is probably true because some semen was released. However... the recovery from low energy back to max energy is substantially minuscule and doesn't take a lot to get there.

If you discovered you have a wet dream, a quick clean up and 10 burpees is all that would take to "recover".

You can calculate how much it me would take if you edged for an 1 hour only to release.

Guy litterally feels like he relapsed after wet dreams and you are telling him its ok, dont even try to stop them cause you "cant stop".
Of course he cant if no one ever tried...

You can however start of by just sleeping on your side. And not eating hard food(meat etc...) before bed.
    It should help a ton.
Wet dreams are there cause your body is used to super production of sperm and sexual tensions build up.
If we havent been addicted to pmo you would probably bever have wet dreams.
Wet dreams are result of PMO.
    So yes they are bad.
There is no need for wet dreams, cause sperm is being absorbed.
In old times people who lusted a lot would have wet dreamsc cause of built up sexual tension.
Or known reason for wet dreams is binging on food, overeating, christians monks are highly alerted about wet dreams cause they are caused, if not by lust than by overeating.

It is normal to have a wet dream that old semen has to go somewhere it has nothing to do with PMO around 130 day mark I had a wet dream everyday for a week I don't know why that happened but I have never felt a negative effect from a wet dream i actually feel better a couple days later but some people do feel a loss in energy. I do not believe for a minute that wet dreams are caused from lusting it's just the body's natural cycle. There is no way of controlling or stopping a wet dream you might by a slim change become consciously aware and wake up before it happens but usually that does not happen. Also the body does absorbs the semen but after a while it still needs to flush and renew itself if I take 50MG of zinc I will definitely have a wet dream either tonight or tomorrow night because zinc increases sperm production and will flush out the old semen.

    They don’t seem bad, bro.

Maybe is the release of excessive amount of sperm you have.

Don’t worry, it’s not a relapse, because you didn’t touch yourself?

My feelings are that too much emphasis exists for the wet dream. Porn and excessive masturbation are the big problem. An ability (or inability) to control the wet dream won't likely go down in history as one of man's epic failures.

But, there are misconceptions I've found in here.

First, PMO isn't the ONLY cause of wet dreams. PMO CAN increase the frequency of wet dreams due to previously-active glands suddenly stopping their function. Although wet dreams are natural, PMO-caused wet dreams aren't. Since they aren't, as stated above, it shows a sign of recovery. But that doesn't mean only PMO causes wet dreams.

Also, wet dreams isn't the only way old sperm and semen get recycled. The body can resorb old, unused semen plenty of times; wet dreams and spontaneous emissions are only two other possible avenues.

Someone can lessen the frequency of wet dreams by behaviors such as clearing their mind at night (i.e. Meditation) as sexual dreams tend to lead to wet dreams. Dietary changes can also lessen the frequency of nocturnal emissions; more fruit-based foods, less spiciness and less caffeine to name a few. There are ways to lower the chance of wet dreams.

However, not all of these "treatments" are foolproof. It works for some; it doesn't for others, and they end up having wet dreams, albeit less frequent.

The Reason why I am not a fan of wet dreams is only because of losing energy during wet dreams.

Its not the only one, so far when i had wet dreams i would have my concentration bit worse, some brain fog litterally like symptoms of, if we could call it half-relapse.
But its not a relapse, and symptoms are mostly physical.
But it also slows down the recovery process, it did at least for me, and kills nofap benefits.
You gotta see for yourself if trying to stop them is worth it, since i dont know how wet dreams effect you.
