A Progressive Challenge-A different kind of challenge- all levels

    Rathi, great points. When you're ready to think, it's a good idea to eliminate whatever triggers you have control over. But I'm sure you're already on top of that. You can do this!

    Weekend Side Challenge--Are You Man Enough to Do This Confidence Builder?

    Okay, men. Here is the first installment of my new idea--the Weekend Side Challenge. This challenge will get you through being alone in the house.

    The Rules - Only two rules. 1) Do this with all the determination that brought you to this site and do not stop to allow weakness to creep in. 2) Report here twice: first time when you accept the challenge and second time when you have succeeded.

    The Challenge - Remove all physical reminders of your old fappy self. Empty the wastebaskets of tissues, put sheets, towels, etc into the washing machine and get them clean. Thoroughly clean and disinfect those computer chairs, desks, phone covers. Thoroughly clean the room, maybe even rearrange it. Wash any infected clothing. Take a cold shower (be sure to get fully dressed afterward) and experience being clean in a clean environment. How luxurious. Then go take a walk and get out of there until it's time to turn in.

    This side challenge will take up a lot of time that you won't use fapping and in fact, it will make you mad enough not to fap. You know it needs to be done anyway, so you will be taking responsibility and not procrastinating. Imagine going to bed tonight in a super clean room with super clean sheets. No dried you-know-what crusting up anything, gross! Do this for you, not for me. And everything you toss or clean, give it the finger. I'm hoping for 100% participation from the men on this thread. I've been supporting and encouraging each of you with a significant time sacrifice as a gift from me to you. Now you do this as a gift for yourself.

    Okay, please turn your phone off. Go take a walk, even if it's cold where you are. Think about how important it is to you to beat this addiction. Clear your mind. Leave the phone off all night.

    Day 3 of 5 (then 10)
    Getting my head above water for a breath of fresh air. Ahhh.

    I'm joining the Cleaning Ritual Challenge. Very good idea. I will modify it though. I will do it on Sunday, when I reach my goal. After the cleaning and the walk, I will come back to write my manifest for the next 10 days for myself.

    I second Duolingo. Great app.

    TC10, you know what to do and what not to do! Please do the right thing, for us and for yourself. And after you beat those urges, do yourself a good favor. Do something rewarding and positive that is not pmo! Cup of tea and a relaxing footbath?

    Hey, Man. We know. We really know. Some of the guys in this thread have found it helpful to list their triggers here. Would you like to do that? Naming them helps avoid them.

    Please read through the postings and my replies on this thread. I recommend giving some encouragement to the postings of the guys that really move you. It can give you a bit of strength. Then maybe put your electronic device that you usually use for your addiction away. See if you can't do something in a room like the kitchen, away from the temptations. All you need to do is get through today first. Then tonight, don't sleep with your phone. Don't sleep nude and don't allow yourself to put your hands down there. It will be ultra sensitive and feel like it's going to blow any second. Don't fight it. Just see if you can enjoy that feeling of the testosterone surge. It means you're a man and it is building the future stud. The boy wanted to fap but the man embraces the surge and in a few minutes, it will die down, you'll get sleepy and the next thing you know it's morning. Some guys have reported success with this method. Maybe it will work for you!

    Keep up the good fight, man. The techniques you've developed are stellar. Day 4 is often tough for me but this too shall pass. Be strong. Think about something else.

    Yea, I think that's the right idea. I think one was at least >2000 words, but it was just the beginning. DerNeuMann suggested that I just finish shorter pieces initially. I'll do just that

    I am also checking in: I'm back on Day 0. Messed up last night (technically early morning today). It was just a small entertainment break around 11 PM ish, since I was tired after studying for 4 or so hours. From Youtube videos to edging on Instagram to the fall. I should just have gone to sleep.

    Well yeah, I was thinking, you should try to write a story with x words, then increase that amount until you find a sweet spot where it's enough words that you can express yourself and tell an interesting story, but not so many words that you get bored. If I were you I'd try 250 words (I know that's none, but just give it a try), then increase it by like 250 words each time until you find that spot. Maybe start at 500 if 250 is like 100% holding you back.
    And I'm glad you're starting again. That's the trick to success, admitting when you've done something wrong. You're strong for being able to do that, and it's good of you to know what your limit was and what you should've done. You've identified what gives you urges and what makes you give up, so change your habits so that trigger/cue isn't a part of your life anymore. You got this!

    Oh man, i hope you are right! Thank you very much.
    I was surfing on facebook and normal pics (half naked girls) triggered me a little, obviously i was procrastinating doing something without any sense, that's the reason why i was getting into urges.
    Facebook is bad, like each form of procrastionation.
    So porn is bad, cause it leads you away from what could make you really happy, it's like a cage made by honey and spines.

    I think i'll go for a run right now, after i'm gonna study for university (i wanna understand if i can have a real job during these years, really need to make money), and tonight i want to go outside to have fun somewhere, it's saturday!
