During past stints of abstinence I'd always end up getting addicted to computer games. It was basically the exact same pattern of behavior. I'd fire it up with the intention of only playing for 'a couple of hours' but then fast-forward to later on and it'd be there hunched over the computer desk at 5am, aching all over with my eyes glued to the screen.

    Ah Skyrim...the porn of RPGs.

  2. yup, was the exact same with me. I traded porn for video games. That's why my latest streak includes freedom from gaming (although I still play tabletop RPG's like Dungeons and Dragons!)

  3. I smoke more cigarettes I have noticed because it gets me out of the house.

  4. All the time. If it's not porn, then maybe it's video games or movies. I once watched all three LOTR extended versions back to back. If not movies or video games, then Youtube is another substitute. Heck, I'll even throw in music in there: I use to exercise, drive, work, eat, and sleep while listening to music. This is one reason why I am a fan of doing monk mode for re-wiring as I need to be a bit more strict than people who are not so prone to addiction. Now my hope is to get addicted to meditation and exercise.

All the free time away from P creates idle hands for me so I try my best to stay as busy as possible. I sold my PS4 as I knew I would lose my self in that. I am more active without that distraction and pretty much make myself too tired during the day so as soon as I touch my bed I am asleep.

I guess I am addicted to being active and out of the house. Even if I cannot be bothered to move I force myself on a walk or something.

I drank alcohol a lot, now i am alcohol free last 11 days, it my best streak in last 2 years after my GF broke up with me. Only reason to stop with it is my liver, my gamma gt was about 8x larger than max value. :(

ikr it's not replacing porn with other addictions, but...

It took 20 days to realize I was eating more. So I had to stop that too.

I smoke 10x more dope than before

  10. A bit too much alcohol, YouTube (non-triggering stuff), sometimes video games..

  11. I've always loved video games and play them probably more than I should, but after stopping PMO I'm playing them way more, and yet I'm trying to do other things as well. I'm probably addicted to games but I don't really care as it doesn't affect anybody else and I enjoy them, but I'm going to start exercising soon so hopefully I do more of that and balance it out.

I quiet PC games a few years ago. And I thought I won the battle. But the other side of it is that I began to spend more time PMOing. By the way I felt the same brainfog effect after videogames such as after PMO. Be careful.

do exercises it helps. It's better to be addicted to exercises than PMO or gaming. And your brain releases dopamine during exercises so you can still be happy after exercises

  14. Exercise is good but don't over-rely on it because when you get sick or injured you can't do it.

The only thing about exercise is...it requires a lot of hard work and determination and does not bring instant gratification. The long term benefits are great sure but as addicts we're after that quick hit. I do exercise though and its one of my motivational factors to stay away from porn but its very difficult to become addicted to imo. Feels like a chore

  16. In a sense it's not good to be addicted to anything, and while I'm going to exercise my hope is to not get addicted to it. Besides how fun I find games, I also play them more because of the crap time I'm going through in life so they help me cope.

Yeah u right. I just love feeling the energy and adrenaline pumping through my veins. I love seeing my muscles in the mirror and I feel very very confident and bold after exercises

I can vouch for exercise too. Also remember change your exercise routine or your body will get used to the routine and you will lose interest. Don't forget it's not really P you are fighting here. It's the habit.
You are retraining your brain to get into new habits. Your brain won't enjoy this at first and will fight it.

I concur. Getting used to a routine will reduce your result and interest in it. I do press ups, I plank and I also do yoga. To take the tension I usually get when I start thinking about sex away.
