Waking to MO

    I've been trying to disciple/mentor a couple brothers who have both confided in me that they basically can't help themselves when they wake up in the middle of the night, all but in the act already. I can't say that I've ever woke up in the middle of the night to MOing. Post-WD, yes, but never even semi-consciously MOing. Mornings are a different story. MW seemed to be a trigger for me. Perhaps it's like that for these guys?

    Anyways, I was wondering if there was anyone on here who wakes up with an insatiable urge to MO, and what to do to combat it. (I told them to pray, as that's my default answer to, well, everything.) Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Jump out of bed and do jumping jacks. That'll suck and maybe help their bodies learn the negative reinforcement.

    Hmm, jumping jacks? Wouldn't that just wake one up even more, making it harder to fall back asleep, and ultimately leaving more time to think about MO? I think prayer is important yes, but I mean in all honesty, if you're waking up in the middle of the night, wouldn't it take a couple minutes to feel drowsy again and then fall back into slumber? Maybe a couple deep breaths, and a calming, peaceful thought?

    Waking up in the middle of the night fully erect with my hand on myself has been a recurring challenge for me, definitely one of the trickier challenges. I can't say I've always been successful with M or MO at those moments. One successful tool for me is to force myself to go to the bathroom and sit on the toilet. It wakes you up more, gets you out of lying down position, and you lose easy hand access to your penis while your woody slowly fades.

    I guess I never asked these guys for specifics, and it might be weird doing so. Regardless, thanks for the advice.
    I know for me, wearing boxer briefs to bed helps with the MW and random erections. I think at this point, I'm on such a hair trigger that just rolling over in my sleep would be arousing. Doesn't mean I don't go au naturale every now and then, but I probably shouldn't.

    No resets this calendar year - that is impressive matey!

    This has only happened to me once and it was about 10 days ago. Funnily enough, my experience is the other way round to yours scrat_on_speed. Apart from that one time, I find nakedness helps a lot. Apparently, we get 6 erections a night (on average). I have found that wearing my briefs creates too much friction on my penis. So, when I get hard, the glans penis is pushing against the fabric making the erection last longer and maybe get even harder. But if you are naked, your penis just stiffens and softens without any external pressure and doesn't wake me up.

    I would recommend is something that was explained to me as 'progressive muscle relaxation'. You start at one end of the body and focus on a muscle group. So, you pull your feet back towards your body (via your muscles) as hard as you can for 3/4 seconds and then you relax, but keeping your focus in that area. You do the same with your calves, thighs, buttocks, stomach, shoulders, jaw... It is incredibly relaxing and sleep inducing. It generally helps with insomnia, too. If you do the whole body twice you will probably start falling asleep.

    Moreover, I agree with you and beauty that prayer helps. Just a simple request to ask for calm and God's peace (Phil 4:6-9). The last couple of verses give some positive subjects that you can gently mull over in your mind and you will find your dick will soften and you will fall back asleep zzzzzzzzz lol! :D

    It has happened to me sometimes after I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. What helps me is realizing how badly I'm messing up my sleep cycle. When I used to MO, if I did MO in the middle of the night I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep.

    I've been told by my bed mate that sometimes she'll wake up and discover me in the act...this happens subconsciously and I don't even remember it happening when I wake. Where does this fit into all of this?
