    Yes--get back on track.
Relapse is perhaps the thorniest problem in recovery. To acknowledge that it happens . . . can sound . . . like a kind of permission: I’m supposed to do this? It’s expected of me? Thank merciful God.
But to ignore relapse invites the user to completely surrender after a single aborted attempt, when usually it takes more than one, if not many tries. The mountain trail is steep and slippery. Few get it right the first time. And having gotten it right is no guarantee of future success, which is why people generally say they are “in recovery” and avoid claiming to have “recovered.”
So the trick is to learn about relapse, then tuck the knowledge away and forget about it, like an insurance card in your wallet to be taken out in case of emergency. Hopefully you never use it. It’s far easier if you don’t have to. Then again “easy” is not a concept of much practical use in recovery.

On my longest streak since the six week streak I had back in January and February, when I first joined this group!

I need your guys' thoughts. I dropped the ball this month, but I'm staying determined to beat this. I plan to get through December, but in order to do that I need to pull out all the stops. What are some things that I should do in preparation for December in order to make it through? What are some things that have helped you all? What habits, ideas, steps, plans, and/or practices are helpful to you?
Resolve to get up more than you fall. Peace.

    • 20 minutes of meditation at least once a day (twice a day is better--start with 5 minutes, gradually increase.)
    • Read three article a day in a field you are interested in.
    • Drink about 2 liters of water per day.
    • Exercise for 30 minutes each day.
    • Learn time management. (Many articles on line)
    • Learn about self confidence and motivation. (RSDTyler on youtube is great.)
    • Get at least 6-7 hours of sleep.
    • Learn a new skill, something you always wanted to do.
    • Take online courses. (Udemy has lots of free ones)
    • Read a self help book.
    • Go out and socialize.

Less than a week to go. Let's finish strong regardless of whether we've relapsed this month. "Addiction is when you do the thing you really, really most don’t want to be doing." Philip Seymour Hoffman, quoted in the New York Times

Checking back in. I've kept it clean, but the last few days have been hard. I see that Friday is December. I want to keep it clean beyond then. Lets keep going! This is my longest streak by far.

    Day 30 - DONE! November 30-day Challenge - DONE!

A short summary is in order:

    I. Goals:
    30 days PMO free.

II. Achievements: ~20 days no PMO; ~28 days without ejaculation; 30 days without P!!!

III. Effects: If I have to be completely honest, this time I had only benefits. Almost no sleeplessness, not even one wet dream (wow), no pressure in the loin area, so almost no negatives. I was a bit 'edgy' but given the increased energy/testosterone and the fact I had coffee almost every day (and it makes me quite nervous and agitated), I handled it pretty well.

As for the positives, almost all of you are aware of them also: increased motivation, increased concentration, increased stamina/faster recovery when exercising etc. I also feel more connected with everything, more compassionate, overall more spiritual but in a new, stable, confident way.
I don't know if there's any real connection (I believe there is) but at the end of last month I also finally hooked up with the girl I loved for a very long time. So that's a bonus.

Congratulations to everyone who made it! To everyone that didn't, DO NOT despair, every day without PMO is a victory!!

Man i'm reading through this again now, and you have no idea how much it's really opened my mind. Wherever you are, hope you're doing well man! i'm still in love with her, but i've learned so much through the chase. Made a few mistakes, but i'm still in the game, thank GOD!

Hey simba, really nice of you to drop a post. I'm glad you are okay and I am impressed by your streak, keep it up, buddy! I kinda lost it along the way and I would lie if I say it didn't have to do with the latest episode of my 'love affair' if I may call it that even. So yeah the whole experience has been destructive for me in a way, I've been 'dumped' so to speak and I'm trying to pick up the pieces. I even relapsed a couple of times and now feel like a total douche. I guess there are lessons in it for me again: don't get cocky - in NoFap or anything for that matter - if not instant, the downfall is guaranteed; don't trust too much - don't love too much (if you're not ready to handle the vulnerability that comes with it) and definitely do not fall for the wrong person. One may learn something from the 'chase' but it's still ultimately a total time and energy loss. It's also very emasculating for me, I see that now.

Anyway, enough with the rambling, everyone has their good and bad periods I guess, I hope you are in good health and form, going forward.. God speed!
