I strongly believe in curing myself by being a strong believer of my religion.its just that i need to tell someone about my problem and know that im not alone in this and i need a support system where people dont know who i am.being a female and addicted to porn and masturbating is socially embarassing to me so no one knows about my struggle with this problem.so is it ok to talk about how our belief in our god helps us in recovering?

My husband and I are devoted believers. Unfortunately that doesn’t exclude us from having PMO as a problem in our life.

He isn’t in reboot or I think even aware about porn addiction. I came here for support since I’m not going to open this to anyone I know.

Definitely think your faith can be a big component of recovery. You’ll find lots of people here who support that view.

You are always free to share religious beliefs in a journal entry of yours on here, as well as with AP's and the relevant religion's group area.

  4. There is no problem at all. There are actually a number of groups for different religions and you might find one that suits you.

I guess being married doesnt guarantee us free from this problem...i used to think marriage can be of big help.but then when i read up on this issue that is not the case for everyone...so everything comes down to us whether we want to be cured or not.thanks for ur sharing

I think being married can make it worse for some.

I’m not sure there are specific faith groups here. I’ve just seen a few posts about it.

I’d be sure to have a clear understanding of how you developed the issue and be completely free of it and any othe addiction before getting serious about anyone. The healthier you are the better mate you’ll attract.

    I am an atheist
But it is totally fine to talk about your god and beliefs (loving learning about variety of religions, very fascinating !)
But whatever helps you recover :)
I am rooting for you !
    Best of luck !

  14. Sure, you can talk about whatever you want. If you think that God is literally guiding you on this path then talk about it, start an accountability group. Some people are atheists or have a differed view of religion (me, specifically catholism). It's all about perspective. Alot of people are die hard believers on here so you'll slide right in

I am an atheist but I always like to hear how people draw strength from God. So think when it is used in a positive way, like nofap it can be a beautiful thing!

  16. At the top of this page you will see a number of tabs: Home, Forums, Groups, Support the Site etc... If you click on the one marked 'Groups' it will take you to a page with lots of different groups listed. Then you can take your pick :)

Thanks very much. I respect all religious beliefs. My own religion is very simple, my religion is kindness. I never would say to somebody “this is a big sin” or -like many religions do- “being gay is a big sin”. The only sin I know is wasting time. Each person has to find out for himself or herself if M is wasting time. So I would appreciate if such sin stuff is not mentioned in a non-religious discussion.

  18. If you're a believer then including God in your recovery is essential. God wants whats best for you and will gladly empower you to leave PMO alone if you ask.
