The word is out.

It has been a crazy few days for me –


Sunday – SO starts a conversation (not for the first time) about the deterioration of our sex life (or more honestly, my reduced virility which I had been attributing to turning 50 a few weeks previously).


Monday – started seriously searching on internet for advice and very quickly, made the link between declining bedroom activity and increased porn use.


Tuesday – found this site and started reading the great and supportive contributions. Resolved to go without P and M for a while and then tell my wife after our anniversary and Christmas… perhaps as a sort of New Year resolution.


Late on Tuesday evening, SO found an open tab on my browser of some porn. So, rather than lie, minimise my activity and try and explain it away, I confessed.


Wednesday – a tense day – several messages of grovelling apology to my wife, very intense conversations when we got home in the evening but a resolution from me to change my ways (with the help of you good people on this website) and to work very hard to rebuild the trust of the most important person in my life – my wife, and repair the most valuable thing I have – my relationship with my wife.


Thursday – today… first day of the rest of my life

Thank you. I wanted to be in control of the news cycle and pick a less significant time to confess, but getting caught and lying would just have made that confession at a later date harder.
