Hi , I'm Matt, I'm new here just to say hi. Introduce myself. I'm 22 and a recovering alcoholic with 11 months sobriety however I am struggling with my transwoman porn addiction, I consider myself straight and only find women attractive however I have only ever watched transwoman porn. I keep joining and deleting website accounts and seeking out sex with trans women. I am masturbating 5 to 8 times a day and it gets in the way of responsibilities. It is also ruining my sex life with a girl i genuinely find attractive and care for. I feel beaten with this addiction and if I can't stop soon I worry I might take my own life. Has anyone got any suggestions to help abstain from porn and masturbating and the obsession and compulsions around it

  2. Hey Matt,
    Welcome to the NoFap community!
I highly recommend reading the links @2525 provided. Especially the one with all the information on rebooting. Also, the 50+ habits post should have plenty of tips to get you started on this NoFap journey.
Feel free to message me if you want to talk to someone.
    Again, Welcome!

I sympathize with you. I too struggled with porn at odds with my true sexuality, depression, and suicidal thoughts.

Stay Alive! You can heal this addiction and live a happy life.
Remember your motivation. Porn and masturbation has caused your pain. Remembering the high cost of porn will help you stay strong when the addiction fights back.
Be aware. Pay attention to your thoughts and actions and surroundings. Determine rules and strategies to avoid porn in challenging situations.
Addiction is a maladaptive coping mechanism. Learn healthy ways of dealing with emotions and stress.
You can do this! Best wishes!

  4. Hi Matt,
Glad you are here. And very welcome to join us in our journey to a healthy, fulfilling life without any self harming habits.

It's a safe place here. We all are in the same boat, so there is no single space for judgement here.
Maybe it's a good idea to keep a journal. Sharing your struggles, thoughts and feelings may help you to understand the underlying issues.

Keep coming back and get the most effort out of nofap!
You don't need to do it alone!

I wish you lots of luck!

  5. One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:

There are many more, and you can discover them on your own. But, these are great places to start.

This is a work in progress. So, if a journal has changed or is no longer active, look around there are some amazing journals on here.

Welcome Matt. 11 months of sobriety is a great accomplishment, what have you done to achieve that? AA? Did you know they have 12 step groups that deals with sex addiction?

  7. I've been in AA for a few 24 hours (sobriety date 2/16/1996). I've known members who took their own lives. It tore to shreds the hearts and minds of everyone that loved them.

Don't commit suicide. Come on here, journal, say hello to people in the forums, welcome the newcomers. Find your niche - but always explore outside it.

Here there are winners. Stick with the winners in the middle of the group and the wolf known as pmo will pick off those on the edges.
