Hi, I want to share this experience with you which has helped me quite amazingly. I started ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting recently. I have an "eating window" of 8 hours daily during which I eat three moderate sized low-carb high-fat meals with no sugar, no snacks between meals. During 16 hours I don't eat anything, only drink water and in the morning one cup of black coffee. My eating window starts usually at 11 AM and ends 7 PM. So basically I don't do anything special, I just have my breakfast later close to noon rather than at 7 AM when I wake up. First I was hungry in the mornings but soon I was adapted to the new eating habit. It's all been easier than I thought.

I've felt good in so many ways, I'm productive, focused and energetic, feel healthy. One of the most surprising things is that I have totally lost my interest in PMO. I just don't have urges anymore, not a bit. I realize those will come at some point but it's quite amazing how I've been rebooting effortlessly without even thinking about it. This must be something hormonal. There is some sort of constant euphoria in the body once it is in ketosis state, it does not crave for feeling of any immediate satisfaction. My theory is that as the nerves keep calm and blood sugar levels keep steady, you don't need "comfort substitute" of anything, like sweets and yes, PMO.

I'm not advertising here anything, I'm not a religious "nutrition nazi", force feeding a lifestyle. I'm not saying this works for everybody. I just want to tell about my experience how I've lost an addictive behavior so easily. This diet is worth trying also if you want to lose weight and feel better overall. Might be that this helps you somehow with PMO addiction.
There are tons of Youtube videos about the diet so it's a good way to start and to find knowledge and motivation.

It’s the fasting. Fasting is one of the most effective ways to control sexual urges. And it has been used as a means for this for ages. I have also been fasting for a week (having a break now), and it had exactly the same effect on me as it did on you. The urges are gone after 1 week of fasting. Other than this there are a ton of other scientifically proven benefits of fasting.
Good luck on your further journey.

I was always under the impression that high fat diets have a tendency to INCREASE libido, but I could be wrong.

  4. I should try this thing sometime, cause my sugar intake been rather high during the holidays and urges keeps coming back and pushing me closer to edge.

  5. Fats are need to produce hormones so higher fats could mean more hormones and more urges. But I think here its more about fasting tthan fats. Anyway fats is much better than sugar, sugar can make you relapse.

So even on 221 days you still get urges? I've never been higher than around ~11 days
I lift weights and am currently trying to gain weight so I really need to keep consuming carbs. I don't have refined sugar though, unless it's being sneaked into the things I eat by the manufacturers. But I keep a close eye on my diet so I should be all good.

  7. Yeah even at 220 days I still get urges. Its been easier from 100 to 180 days. Sure I had my flatlines, but yesterday saw dream about porn. So that sucks.
Anyway abstraining from PMO requires constant mantience. Its more like a habit for me now but still media is full of sinful things so its easy to get triggered.

I would recommend intermittent fasting and if you are religious you can do religious fasting. The extra benefit with religious fasting is that the fast has not only the physical and health benefits of normal intermittent fasting, but it also has the moral and spiritual aspect, since you fast for the sake of God and your own moral and spiritual well-being. Therefore your fast not only breaks if you eat, but it also breaks if you sin the least. Religious fasting is different from religion to religion. But as a Muslim I know that Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset. In between this you cannot eat or drink. If you do so it will cancel your fast. Similarly if you sin even the least during this your fast is cancelled too. So if you Do PMO or edge during this your fast will break. This way religious fasting can be a very good detergent from PMO. A couple of weeks ago my urges were dangerously high and I was at a risk of relapse. So I started fasting from sunrise to sunset. This way I kept my mind away from PMO, since it would nullify my fast and after one week of such fasting my urges are now low. This is how I fast, however all types of fasting has some sort of benefit.
Whatever you do I wish you good luck :)
