I find that intake of grains and/or flax seed help to get peristalsis going for me. At least a serving per day. Anecdotal experience says that a diet of meat and veggies alone have lead to incontinence. But YMMV. I know that anti-grain folks say that if you eat a bowl of oatmeal or grits, your intestines are "purging" themselves. But my regularity depends upon at least a serving of grains per day. Just a thought. I've been on many "diets" as someone formerly into powerlifting, then boxing.

I take magnesium because it kind of takes care of the nervous system and helps with production of ATP in muscle contraction. I'm always avidly into some form of exercise or another. I do notice that it helps give me an afterglow of mellow when I take it. Oh, another I forgot that I take is vitamin c, one gram in the evening. It's shown to lower cortisol and to also, of course, aid the immune system.

If peristalsis in particular is an issue, there is an enzyme from kiwi that can be helpful. I can't remember off the top of my head what it's called but I should be easy to find - or just eat kiwi.

Thank you for your responses. I will definately take what you are saying into account. I won't stay off grains forever. I am trying to work my way through some different diet options and find out what triggers my stomach problems.

Good to know. Not an issue for me. The only time it ever WAS an issue was when I was on a meat/vegetable type of diet with no flax/grains/legumes of any kind. With a couple servings of grains of choice per day, I'm regular each morning to the full :D!

    Just a PSA:

For me, it's a no-go on the tribulus. Took 2000mg and had a very restless, hot night. Will not be taking this again! Printing the return label as we speak, and I'll go with the tried and true ashwaghanda KSM-66 extract for energy/libido assistance. I know that it's beneficial to me. Jarrow makes a great extract of this for a stellar pricepoint.

But from me to you, YMMV, tribulus gave me insomnia/sweats. Maybe too high of a dose, but I'm not bothering with dosing it, period.

  9. Any type of really fkn expensive whole food vitamen. Stack with an extra B complex for added energy, Omega 3 with DHA liquid form, flax seed oil liquid form, greens supplement from who ever...all pretty much the same, glutamine powder first thing in the morning, after your work out and before bed (take with vitamin C powder so u don't wake up before your alarm goes off), branched chain amino acids first thing in the morning and before or during a workout. Extra vitamin D if not getting sun or tanning.

    1) Multi-vitamin, Fish-Oil, Vitamin D3, Magnesium and Zinc
    2) There's plenty of studies around linking hormonal problems wih deficiencies of the above micro-nutrients. When I take them I feel great. When I don't, I feel "lower energy".
    3) Once I started taking these I no longer needed 8 hours of sleep to feel functional. I gained muscle easier and lost body fat easier as well.
    4) Now Foods. I believe they are the best.

With the exception of a multi-vitamin and fish oil, I'm with you on that 100%. Magnesium, D, and zinc, among others, are important. I get my omega 3's from eggs, fish, and hemp seed/walnuts. I eat a whole lot of variety/color in foods from decent sources. I'm still real big on taking a multi-mineral, though. I find that it's hard to get certain trace min's from food alone. For many, who can't put forth a whole lot of effort/time in preparing fresh foods, though, a decent vitamin/fish oil are musts. Nice, simple micro-stack, VS.

Wow some really nice suggestions. I have started taking Selenium/Magnesium and Zinc based on suggestions here and from few close friends. I cannot say I feel much different because it has been only three days. But will definitely report back about the effects in months time.

I have a question for people who workout/weightlift etc. What are your experiences with creatine monohydrate and BCAA. Do you recommend both? Does the body become dependent on them? For example creatinine would supply your muscles with more energy during workouts. But when you don't take creatinine does the body perform worse than normal due to creatinine dependence?

  15. One Daily Men's multivitamin from the Vitamin Shoppe (best multi I can find & contains d3)
    Nature Made Omega-3 from Walmart
Sundown Naturals Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc (not the full dose as it provides a lot of magnesium and zinc)
[edit] Apple Cider Vinegar is cheaper in the vinegar aisle

I also try to eat healthy. Lots of rice, 2 eggs a day, yogurt, lots of vegetables, and tea (especially green tea.)

    - Vitamin D3
    - Astaxanthin - both of these for sun protection. I live in a sunny climate and I'm fair skinned.

    - Coconut Oil
    - Apple Cider Vinegar
    - Raw Honey (I'm not sure if these 3 count as supplements)

Didn't try it for testosterone boosting effects. Energy/aphrodisiac qualities, which are supported, at least through much anecdote. My experience? Lots of energy on 2000mg with 45%saponins. But also insomnia/sweating to go with it. Sorry for the long explanation, but I thought I made it clear enough in my post by not explicitly mentioning a desire for test boosting. Color me well-aware.
