I got a weird urge to...

Discussion in 'Off-topic Discussion' started by Deleted Account, Jan 19, 2018.

  1. Get a girlfriend for some reason. Now, i am a male teenager, and the only ones that are attractive to me are females. But i feel like the idea of me dating at my age is pointless because i am so young. I also think that it might be normal to feel that way, but i will disregard it. It's just i always see kids at my school dating, and it's so fucking annoying. I don't wanna engage, since i'm too young and since i wanna respect my parent's rules.

Getting too romantically involved when you are young can be a big distraction, and it can hurt. It’s too easy to feel like we’ve lost a piece of ourselves when we invest our heart into someone only to see the relationship fail.

However, such a time as youth may still be a prime age to develop the abilities to communicate with the opposite sex in a healthy, friendly & playful manner. One doesn’t need to be dating to do that. Even if you decide to not date for another 10 years, you can use those 10 years to practice the art of making someone special smile.

  4. I agree with you so much. Dating in school is a distraction, but i feel like i can make female friends more once i better myself.

I’ve personally never dated in high school. Found it pointless as well. Just look around at everyone else and you’ll see all the bullshit they have to put up with when teenagers date. The reality of high school dating is extremely unrealistic. The majority of them don’t even have a job, hormones are all out of wack, and most high school boys are into porn. Out of my school that I went to, I only know of one relationship that worked out for the better, they are actually close friends of mine, and they are very happy together.

  6. Yea man, for real. I think that kids should wait until they're 18-20 years old to date.

Hey, I just heard on interesting radio interview with the woman (Cindy Pierce) who published
Sexploitation: Helping Kids Develop Healthy Sexuality in a Porn-Driven World (it's on Amazon). She's done research and talked quite a bit about how porn confuses young guys' approach to relationships. Ciao!

That sounds interesting. I feel the teenage world is bombarded hard with that shit. Some teenagers that I’ve met are just all testosterone and no brains. There was a time where I believed the 2000’s generation was hopelessly lost for good. It wasn’t until I got on Nofap and noticed there were actually teenagers who wanted to be free of Nofap. Thanks for the post. I’m gonna definitely check out that interview.

  11. It sounds like you have a pretty mature attitude about it. Girls can be somewhat of a distraction so its best to handle business. Nothing wrong with flirting with the girls to get some game under your belt and going on a few dates for experience but it's good you want to respect your parent's rules and focus on whats important.

  12. There is no reason for any guy my age to actively look for a girlfriend. He should be paying most of his attention into what he's going to do for a living. The girls will come. He'll meet them along the way. It's his career that needs his full attention.

Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a firm believer in trying to make yourself worthy of a woman. I see asking out a girl as like giving a resume to an employer. You have to let them know you're worth giving attention to. There's a difference between asking a girl out while having a thought-out career plan and asking a girl out while having a "dream".

And yes, obviously, this is just my opinion. But I'd rather let a girl know that she's going out with a man with a plan rather than a dream and nothing else.

To quote a rapper: "Easy to dream a dream, but it's harder to live it".

Sure you can not date but then you could also not know how to date as a result. You can date and not have it affect your goals. But you can also date and itll affect your goals.
Human interaction is the best you can take from dating. It's experiences and gauging what you want. You can't skip that phase without experiment

Bud, look at it this way date. Chances are highly likely nothing will come of the relationships in the long term, but it doesn't hurt to get some practice in finding out what you would like personality and looks wise in a potential future partner. Just remember your a teenager, don't be awkward and go have some fun. If I knew now what I would have been capable of getting away with had I just been confident, I could have dated half the girls in my home town. Just play it safe, and don't knock anyone up and you'll be fine.
