Today is day 9 from when I decided to take control and quit P/M. But when (if at all) are you allowed to P/M/O without it being considered a relapse? Is once every couple months ok? Or is that inviting problems?? I'm new to the NoFap community and and glad to be a part of it.

  2. The goal is to rid ourselves of this addiction once and for all. Why would you ever want to go back to something that damages you?

Hi Jet Vet, I'm also new. From what I gather each person will have a different need/goal/journey and it might be demoralising to follow a path which is almost impossible for you. For me, I want to go 30 days without PMO and if I can do that and it has benefits for me then aim for 90 days, which a few people seem to suggest is when the brain returns to a less hyperstimulated state. I'm pleased with the effects for me so far - no withdrawal symptoms (I think it's much harder for guys who grew up with hardcore/internet porn - I'm 47 and didn't see much of that until I was around 30) and a really strong sense of well-being coming from being in charge of my sexuality after five years in which PMO has been largely in charge of me. I'm enjoying getting back my morning wood, involuntary erections, and real sensitivity in my d. Personally, I probably will go back to MO at some point but this time is giving me space to rethink old habits and clear my head. You may well notice a change after a week. How about aiming for 1 week's no-PMO and then take it from there? Keep us posted!

Steve, thanks for the response. It's been 12 days since my last PMO. I had S with my wife only 6 days after my decision to quit PM, and 6 days isn't that long (although it's a long time when you PMO twice a day) but, I was considerably harder, stayed harder longer and it felt better. In the past with so much PMO, S with my wife was difficult and it was hard on her because she didn't know why I couldn't stay hard and pleasure her. I always said "I did M a couple days ago, it's from that." But she didn't know I was PMO'ing nearly as much as I was. With that being said, and things improving in the bedroom with the wife, I have no intentions of going back to PMO. I just wasn't sure how realistic "Never PMO'ing again" really was. Obviously if at the 60 or 90 day mark and decided to try PMO, the temptations to continue couldn't lead me down that road I was on before. And it won't, I'M in control now, not my urges. And I agree Steve, the returning sensitivity and morning wood is nice. This morning I'm pretty sure I could have F'd a tree... Lol
