I tend to blame porn for every mishap in my life. Maybe because i spend a lot of time and energy sometimes wasted on this.

I forget however what drives me to pmo, keeps my addiction going. Its every other setback in life. Every disappointment that are totally unrelated.

I somehow tend to make a connection and blame porn addiction for everything.
It will be amazing to rid of this addiction but is me getting out of this cycle going to solve all my other problems ?

No i don't think so. I think working on each aspect of your life without self hate and without focusing on relapse or anything related to porn may in turn help stop this addiction.

Also on a side note, why is it that certain drugs are illegal, Alcohol is age restricted but internet porn just requires and underage kid to click "yes i am above the age of 18" to get into.

The NoFap lifestyle is more that just saying no to PMO. It is about total self improvement. Replace the addiction with positive life choices. Fitness, hobbies, studies, new experiences. Let those control your life. You are right, just giving it up alone won't change a thing. But putting it away and picking up something new will!

@Craig365 I think you are confused about quitting porn addiction and self-improvement. You may think they are different things, but they are not. After a while in your reboot, you will find out that, it is literally impossible to stop your porn addiction by just will-power and that motivation to "stop watching porn". Trust me, I learnt this the hard way months ago.

Also I was exactly like you, blaming every disappointment and regret I've had in the last few years on porn addiction. Convincing that it wasn't me, it's my porn addiction. But soon you will know that self-improvement, honestly is the only way to actually curb your addiction. Self-discipline and determination do not just appear out of nowhere. Only by improving yourself for the better can you actually have those values. And trust me by then, if you are able to curb porn addiction and remove it from your life, you will be able to better yourself as a whole and stop having as many regrets as before. I've experienced this and I hope in time you will too.

I know, porn addiction is so underrated and not taken seriously in society these days. There is also this thought that watching porn is cool and that everyone does it anyway. Sadly, it's only people like us who really felt the consequences and were fortunate enough to find NoFap that we can actually start curbing it. The rest of the people are really suffering in silence and I do hope that they will receive the help they need too.

Yea, i think i'm stuck where i blame porn for every mishap :(. I have a lot to improve and a lot that is wrong with me now that i must work on self improvement inclusive of porn addiction.
Porn is just like any other drug i guess? dopamine release that unplugs you from the world and all the problems.

  5. I fapped may through university and got 3 masters degrees and a high paying 'work when I want from home' job. It's main impact for me is on my mood and being social I am not to great at it in the best of times but I am a disaster when I PMO.

Hmm we all are different, have different obstacles we want to overcome but on this forum we share one common problem. I think my problem however is severe because i struggle to make one week no PMO.

If anyone can offer good advice, motivation or anything that helps you overcome and keep up the streak please feel free to message me or post on this thread Limiting messaging to this site only as i do want to keep anonymity.

I want to complete the 7 day challenge guys but since i started here this month i relapsed a couple times and only made a highest streak of 4 days

I think getting to the roots of our issues has nothing to do with porn. PMO is the symptom really.

But it is horribly destructive in itself.

Alcohol is poison in my eyes and cannabis should be way more legal than it.

Backwards are the ways of this world.

People say war on drugs is a failing strategy and I agree in a sense as drugs are the symptom much of the time and when you wage war on the symptom you neglect to fix the root cause.

That is all I feel like typing.

I guess I can share a song on being resilient that I wanted to share in another thread just because it is purdy:
