    Hello all,

Was on such a great streak - nine days and counting, which was hard for me to pull off. Then I watched this TV show with sex in it and couldn't get it out of my mind. I went to sleep remembering porn I'd watched in the past and this morning PMO'd. It seems I cannot handle triggers well.

So I would ask you all, what do you do to address triggers?

  2. Only solution is too keep yourself away from trigger . An addict when exposed to addictive substance will definitely relapse.

See the issue with that is that with TV these days, you never know when it's going to appear, and it can be pretty graphic. I'm just asking in general what are good trigger management strategies?

  4. @backpacker,
You could always give up TV.
I know it seems like a drastic step, but ask yourself: how much do you want to give up PMO? What are you willing to give up to be free?

Honestly that's not a bad idea haha. I've mostly given it up anyway. It's a real time suck.

Still, triggers are inevitable. What should I do when I encounter one?

Depends on how you react to the ones you usually get, like how strong are they in intensity, how you handle the impulse and abstinence and if you could find better and more constructive things do to with your time!

I wish you the best, you can make it!

If you're religious, I suggest prayer. That worked very well for me during my previous streak.
If you're not, meditation could help.
Also getting an AP who you can contact when you're triggered and talk about the situation.
Even coming on here can help me 'forget' about triggers. My mind can only focus on so many things at once.
