I see the main focus here seems to be for people who are addicted to porn to try and relinquish that addiction. But if I'm not addicted to porn, in the slightest bit, I just like to fap daily, than is it even necessary to try and go fap free?
stop fapping and you will know if you have a problem. Continuously feeding a lion keeps him satisified, stop and see how big the problem you then have on your hands. Evaulate what brought you here? Most 'normal' fappers don't curiously wonder the internet for sites about not fapping/addiction. or maybe you did. Stay stopped for a period of time.. if you notice you're restless, irritable, discontented and obsessed about the alien idea of not fapping... hmmmm may have a problem mate.
mike777, if you say more about yourself, your circumstances and what brought you here it would be easier to answer your question. If your addiction is to masturbation only, then you can set that as your goal as we are not all here for the same reason(s).
I'm here because I'm curious, I already knew fapping was healthy, so I wanted to know if not fapping was healthy to.
Masturbation is healthy if you aren't addicted. It is possible to become addicted to fapping without porn. Is that you, or no? Not fapping regardless of how you view it does have benefits, but how you use this forum is up to you.
no argument here, I'm just trying to learn more about all this. I'll accept anyones opinion/ insight on any matter
that sounds accurate, I think I can admit that I'm addicted to flapping, but I could care less about porn
Personally, I think there is a correlation between masturbation and gambling. It is claimed that there is nothing wrong with either of them, unless you become addicted. But I think both these activities are insidious. A gambler can have an occasional bet, which is widely viewed as being perfectly acceptable. But, everyone that is a gambling addict started off betting 'responsibly'. A masturbator can have an occasional wank, which is widely viewed as being perfectly acceptable. But, everyone that is a masturbation addict started off wanking 'responsibly'. Both of these activities trigger the release of the dopamine reward circuit in the brain. Whereas we are not wired to throw our money away, we are wired to shoot our load. If we do this with a partner, that is healthy. But masturbation, where the focus and motivation is completely self-centred is harmful. Most people will objectify the sexual organs of others while masturbating. This is unhealthy.
