One day short of 4 months w/o PMO and my own mind betrayed me! No P, but MO. Seems like once I get into wrestling with it, with the impulse, mental images, whatever, I've pretty much lost. Quick, effortless distractions to rapidly take attention off it seem to work, but using grinding force-of-will does not. Gets back to "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." The more force applied, the more likely and more violently it is likely to kickback. Prior to 17 June 2014 MO was at least once or twice a week. Had been off heavy P for a couple years but occasional thumbnail pics. Well, lessons are learned this way. I broke the habitual aspect of it and know that it can be done and I am not a complete slave of the impulse. Onward and upward! Good luck and best wishes to all the folks out there who are aiming toward a better life.

Hey mate. I relapsed to PMO today after a 24 day streak. I'm gutted about it. But i agree, relapse is always a learning and growing experience.
My main slip up was, in short, because I failed to stick to my morning routine, spent too long in bed with an erection.. Touching led to fapping, fapping led to edging,, you get the idea.
Back to day one for both of us. Good luck to you and may this be your strongest streak!

Congrats on the long streak and for having a positive angle and learning from it. The part about every action having an equal reaction really made me think. Distractions over willpower. I like it. Thank you for the insight.

I was thinking about it early this morning. Just goes to show how easy it is after all this time to lose focus.
Don't be hard on yourself. You did great all summer. Not to mention it was MO without P so its not nearly as bad IMO.
    Stay strong

CL555: Geez, same here! Lying in bed and thinking... that was the downfall. I've been able to apply the "hands off" rule perfectly until today. Once the thoughts get going I know I must engage in activity or anything to get extroverted which lying in bed is definitely NOT. Thank you for your understanding.

js5: Thanks for the congrats. Keep up the good work. Western civilization has long been strong on force and short on intelligence or spirituality. We tend to break things: objects, people, hearts, countries, economies and environments with overuse of force. When things don't go right we seem to lean towards hitting, fighting, large hammers and explosives and, of course, being hard on ourselves by turning the force inwards. That's why getting extroverted, looking out, not being embroiled in our thoughts, tends to be enlightening and more rational, I think.

fapadonna: Right... the early morning thing. I was just mentioning that with CL555. Looks like you started just a few days before I did. Well done for continuing. I thought I'd be really bummed out but not so. Mainly I needed to know that I could break the habit. Like smoking (tobacco). I started sneaking it at age 7, was daily by 16 (all unfiltered, mostly Camels), pack a day until 38 then stopped cold turkey with no problem. And I never let alcohol or drugs get me either. I just stop when it seems to be habitual. It was just the PMO, of all things, and mainly the MO that seemed impossible until recently. And my great thanks to NoFap and it's members for being there and offering encouragement and good examples. Thanks for the kind words, fapadonna. You too.
