- You can't say why you disagree with it other than "science says" and so on
- You haven't pointed out any flaws in the experiment
- You haven't pointed out any problems in the method or conclusions

This is what unites Russia, China, UK, Iran, numerous colleges and private businesses? What will they do to those of us who are smart enough to see through the round earh thing? There are videos of drones going up high enough to see the curvature of the earth. Have a look at them if you like. Personally I haven't bothered as I don't care enough.

You talk about "curved water". Well, water isn't curved but the Earth's gravity makes water curve around it.

Everything has gravity, but it's a weak force. So as a human being you have some gravity but not enough to attract water to yourself. If you were the size of the Earth, you would.

A thought experiment: if I had a super strong vacuum cleaner and I held it at a certain distance above some water, the water would "dome" slightly.

I wouldn't mind if the flat earth theory was true. It would be nice knowing if I needed the money enough, I could look for a job in Antarctic security. They must be crying out for staff there..

The moon turns red because of refraction, and you can even see the shape of the earth!
Impossible on a flat earth. There is no argument against the lunar eclipse.

 

A lot of simple experiments that were easily visual led to the concept of spherical earth...simple experiments can demonstrate truth assuming proper control variables and sound assumptions

 

I have video chatted across continents and seen it is dark there when it is light here. I asked for this to be explained, I was shown a small gif with the sun moving over the surface of the earth casting a light cone. I looked carefully at it to see if it offered an alternative viable hypothesis for my experience in relation to this simple "experiment" of mine.

I read the forum was to ask questions and with an open mind. I have done this, the answer I have been given failed in the final analysis to match the result of my observations. I would happily review an alternative answer that accounted for seasonal variations I have noticed. I am not sure if some other sun path/cone shape could account for the observations I have made. I must admit I could not envisage one.

How is the flat earth supported? What happens when one reaches the end of the earth? Do we fall off? To where? And are there really monsters there too?

 

No person who is advocating flat earth is claiming that they know every answer to every question that one can come up. What "Flat Earthers" are doing is doing experiments with the curvature or lack thereof, sun, and the moon to provide evidence for what appears to be a flat earth. People who are advocating round Earth have no science to back their claims. Testable, repeatable, hypothesis, experimentation, measurement, data; this is science. Learn the difference between science and scientism. The round Earth = scientism, a belief based on conjecture with no evidence to back it up. The flat Earth = science, conclusions drawn from observable and repeatable phenomenon.

When a light source reflects illumination off of a spherical object, the spherical object bounces the light back in a beam of light. The sphere does not bounce the light back in a shower-like fashion. A person can observe with his own eyes that the moon radiates its own form of illumination. Just look at it and observe. The same halo effect happens around the moon, as it does for the sun. Open your mind. <3

 

You mention planes riding the Jetstream to fool us all but planes cannot ride the Jetstream unless the earth is actually a globe since jetsteams are caused by earths rotation. I am sure there is a FE explanation for the Jetstream origin but I have not seen it expounded here or elsewhere.

We always assume that free exchange of information will result in scientific progression, and I think that is statistically true, but the outliers are often neglected. You are what might be considered an anomaly in the progress of the scientific community. Some chromosomal mutation has changed you, but unlike the x-men who were changed to have super strength or to shoot frikin lasers from their eyes, you were mutated into an intellectual Neanderthal. How your mind allows you to think “people who advocate round earth have no science to back up their claims” is...comical. (Xmen...comical? Get it? No? Never mind.)
Reading the flatearthers posts reminds me how fragile all cultural and intellectual progress is.

 

Mr. Yoda wannabe, We have more then enough evidence. Please explain how lunar eclipses are possible on a flat earth.

 

People have known the earth is spherical for centuries.

You always see the sails on a sailing ship while the hull is still below the horizon, which is why a ships lookout was always at the top of the mast - because he could see things the people on deck could not. I'd very much like to know how this works in a flat earth scenario.
