Life After Porn

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Feb 10, 2018.

  1. I'm literally disgusted with myself right now. I found an ebook that @PRN-ADKT told me about and I started reading it. It gave some good insights about what porn does to the brain and what the long term affects are. It gave me chills especially knowing that I've known this information for a long time yet never did anything about it. I read more and more into the book and a question came into my head.

"What happens to porn stars after they leave the industry?"

I've heard that the porn industry is crazy. A lot of drugs, violence, and a lot of scenes are borderline rape. And I asked myself, how can this be? Don't most women go into the porn industry because they want to and like to have sex?

I'm realizing now that it's a common misconception. Yes, women enter the industry for financial gain or for escapism from a life they feel trapped in. Yet they feel even more trapped than before knowing that they had put themselves in situations where they felt abused sexually.

I'm just scratching the surface, but I found a website called http://fightthenewdrug.org. Even just reading some of the stories on there made me appalled at my own actions. Every video I watched, every scene I PMed to, I believe I was supporting this industry that we've all become addicted to..

Man this is Day 0 for me and I'm already feeling as if I could get rid of this forever, yet I know it won't be as easy as reading a story online..

I hope everyone is fighting their battles hard. God bless.

Definitely, man. I’ve researched this a ton. It’s a very common misconception that the women are there willingly/freely. SO much coercion and force goes on behind the scenes. Sex trafficking and actual rape are *common* in those LA studios. Not to mention homemade stuff. I do not say that lightly. And even if they are there willingly, they aren't recognizing their own dignity by doing so, giving no excuse for us users to consume the “product” they make. Many become washed out after a only a few months because of the violence/injuries/disease/degradation they experience on set, and then they have a difficult time finding proper employment because they’re ‘labeled’ as p stars. It’s a such a sad industry for the “stars.” I love Fight the New Drug.
