I went for a night walk next to the beach in a hope that it will distract me in some way but sadly it didn't help.
My mind is just full of those stupid negative thoughts again,
I feel like I'm back to day 0 now.
I'm gonna try tomorrow morning to take a break from Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp for 24 hours.

    Day 19.
Here is a list of some changed that I've noticed so far :
(I'm not sure if it has anything to do with NoFap but I'll post it anyway.)

#1. I started to eat more fruit and vegetables (Strawberries, Bananas, Oranges).
#2. I started to dislike alcohol drinks and energy drinks. (Yesterday night I was drinking XL [just for the sake of it] and I felt like I'm about to throw up.
#3. I started to feel alive again.
#4. I feel more concentrated during the day.
#5. I started to feel a little bit more confident about myself.
#6. I stopped dwelling on my past mistakes.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I can't believe that in 10 days from now I'm going to beat my streak!
It's going to be a huge day for me, I already feel the butterflies in my chest.

    UPDATE :
It's been about 4 hours since I turned off my cell phone and...
    Life is beautiful!
I also decided to take a break from Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram.

    UPDATE II :
I turned on my cell phone a couple of minutes ago because I had to send an important message to someone (I didn't enter Facebook/Instagram).

    UPDATE III :
    I'm feeling great.
I think that I'm going to turn that into a habit from now on and I'll be using my cell phone only in the evening.

    UPDATE IV :
Why did I have to open my Instagram, FUCK

I relapsed on day 5. I don't know what to do as the urges keep getting stronger.

  9. I think the best way is to just not open something sexually appealing or masturbate. Think about not doing only these two things when you have strong urges. All else is allowed.

This will take the pressure off your head and your brain will then distract itself.

Had a pretty good day. Feeling better then a few days ago.
Don't give up. You're really far already.
What triggered you this time? Try to analyse it and eliminate the trigger. Be aware of the chaser effect the coming days. All the best!
Really good to hear! Keep going man!

Yeah, I think i need to start avoiding social media if i want to get somewhere. It's one of the more subtle triggers and its hard to recognise when it happens.

Day 49/45 - Wow, that tech-free week just flew right by me. Not being on the computer every day opened up for some many things - I got outside and experienced stuff. I got started on some new projects. Really nice.
My new goal is 60 days.

I've read the last pages, and wow, we have some great progress going on here! There is so much support and a sense of community in this thread. Congratulations everyone, for doing a great job!

    On social media and awareness

A handful of people have decided to limit or quit social media - and good riddance I say! This will help you gather an energy surplus. We spend so much time glued to the screens -and for what purpose? Are we even aware of what we are doing?

A large part of facing PMO addiction is seeing that it contains many different parts. Part one is porn addiction, obviously. The second part is the physical masturbation and orgasm addiction. But there is also the third part: internet addiction/"screen" addiction. And a fourth part of it is just pure escapism. (There are probably many more parts, depending on the individual)

Battling PMO addicition requires raising your level of awareness. Defeating urges, avoiding triggers, making healthy plans and following through - all these require a higher level of awareness, of "being there" in the moment.
The way to defeating addiction is be more aware in every moment, all the time. Yes, it also requires discipline, making choices and taking actions. But to start with, if you don't have awareness, then the choices dissappear. The possbility for actions disappear. And of course, discipline disappears. So we can see, that all these ways of battling addiction rely upon being conscious of what is happening in the moment.

When we are not aware in the moment, we have no choice but to follow through with our automatic behaviours. But if we start to be more aware, then the possibilities of choice, action, and improvement appear.

Training awareness - switch it up!
There are many ways to train awareness, to be more present in the moment, to have more conscious ability. One of them is to switch things up!
Start doing new things, start doing the usual things in a new way. It can be fun, too - try brushing teeth with your left hand! Try eating something different for breakfast everyday for a week. Take a new route to work. Quit social media for a week. Things like these - small things, easy things, fun things.

The difference that will arise from doing things just a little bit differently is huge! You will start to see how much of your life is really habit - automatic behaviour. You will start to find out a lot about yourself and the way you work, and think. When you start doing new things, you will have to make some choices that you are not used to making. And this will really impact the level of awareness you take into other parts of your life.

Especially quitting social media, will leave you with a lot of time on your hands, and itchy hands and soul reaching for the social media fix automatically. This is a very beneficial learning experience, when you find out that your compulsions free up and give you a lot of extra energy instead.

Thanks for reading if you got this far. I had a lot of fun writing this. I hope it will be of help.

TL;DR: Quitting addiction requires raising your level of awareness. Raising your awareness in one part carries over to another. So quit social media, drive a new route to work, and be aware of the little changes, and you will see improvements.
