I certainly do. Being a doctor requires a certain modicum of literacy. I think folks are being duped.

What you are exhibiting is something called confirmation bias.

You are a virtuous one Warrior. I am here for the same reasons, too. But when I read something that I suspect is untrue, I call it out.

  7. Nofap will surely help u. But u have to be patience with it as it requires some time to heal. At least 3 months 90 days are required for a reboot. But in some cases it can take more time.

  8. It seems that ur case is similar to deathgrip. Actually these fleshlight artificial vagina can never compete with the real vagina of a girl which is made by nature. There are similar cases here and people have healed by totally abstaining from PMO. You too can recover don't lose hope.

Healthcare is a trillion dollar industry. Doctors get trained to sell drugs or surgery, they themselves don't know whats happening. I use to take paracetamol for cough and colds. Now I take natural medicine, stuff that your grandad and granma used to use, until everyone got brainwashed. If I have a cough or cold, i will take ginger or oregano oil. There is no chemicials in that and you heal much faster. There also not much harm to the body unlike like paracetomol.

I use to have back pain and spent lots of money to find cures, I finally got healed because I realised it's mental. The pain is real but it was surpressed emotions because I was too much of a nice guy. Psychotherapy helped with my suppressed emotions.

I also have sweaty palms. This is normal for me but I sweated 80 percent of the time while i was awake, my hands and body were also hot and cold. I sweated on the chest and my chest was hot and cold, when I had sex with my ex. We couldn't have sex. It was because my ex kept complaining about me and I started to worry too much. We ended it and it was the best thing that happened to me, I started to read the book: The worry cure by robert leahy and i started to heal. I do have sweaty palms but 96 percent of the time, I'm dry now. I had an other girl later and I no longer sweated when we had sex because she wasn't mean or complaining about me, I felt really relaxed around her.

Cough and colds, back pain and sweaty palms, if I didn't find the cure, I would be spending lots and lots of money on healing myself. There are lots of back pain treatments that don't work. There are many sweaty palm treatments that just don't work either.

I feel nofap is the same, it's NOT going to be mainstream, it took me over a year of ED to find a solution. This is before I started my nofap.

Primary care doc here, 36 yo. We usually don’t talk like medical journals outside of our job.

Struggled with PMO on and off, sometimes with more successful periods of remission than others.

I appreciate the OP’s post. It took courage to do so. I too believe the science behind PMO abstinence is sound.

I think that anyone over age 40 the refractory period for orgasm is 16 days. Meaning we should not orgasm more often.

What "science" are you talking about? There have been NO peer reviewed studies or papers on "NoFap". You may personally believe (as I do) that NoFap is a wise approach. But there is no established "science" behind this. No controlled studies. No AMA published articles on abstinence and its impact on erectile dysfunction.....etc.....etc.

A medical practitioner would know this.

I am sorry guys. I don't mean to be a naysayer here. Heck, I want to believe NoFap is the answer as much as anyone. But let's face it, there are a zillion times more "doctors" out there advising the "use it or lose it" approach to masturbation.

No one has studied this in a medically/scientifically valid manner. Everything we believe is anecdotal. Again, I believe the anecdotal evidence myself. I just don't buy the "Trust me, I'm a doctor." stuff.

God help the patient of a "doctor" who got his medical knowledge from this forum.

I had similar experience, although i could MO withouth porn, I wasn't able to get strong everlasting erection, feel penile stimulation or reach an orgasm while having sex. So i had to completely eliminate both porn and any kind of artificial penile stimulation (hands, fleshlights). After 14 days i could already get much stronger and longerlasting erections and after 30 days my dick was as eager as teenagers (i'm 25 and i had spinal cord injury some years ago). After 70days i can last forever even if i'm not horny, although i still feel very little and can't orgasm, i hope it's not due to SCI.

'use it or lose it'... I think the penis is one of those rare things in life where this doesn't apply, in fact probably the opposite is applicable. The less its used the better it works.

The science is that having to do with dopamine receptor overstimulation, developing tolerance, withdrawal symptoms from abstinence, and (I believe) some modicum of decreased dependence with prolonged abstinence (though I don’t think a person can totally develop non-dependence once s/he has been addicted) — classic addiction pathophysiology.

I can’t link articles since I need to be registered for longer, but if you google:

Neuroscience of Internet Pornography Addiction: A Review and Update

... you’ll reach a medically relevant article. The mentions of neuroplasticity are interesting.
