My guess is that it is porn induced.

I personally have went through periods where I was really into[NSFW] mature or milf porn. Then I only wanted to see black porn. Then I was into gangbang porn and rape porn. [/NSFW]

So I would guess that you got addicted to the fact that you are looking at something so disgusting and vile. It's like and addiction within an addiction. You first got addicted to porn and then addicted to that type of porn. It's kind of like a menthol cigarette smoker. They are not only addicted to nicotine but become addicted to the menthol as well.

    Hope this helps!

Also, I apologize to anyone who feels my last post was sort of graphic, I only mentioned the specific porn categories to be helpful and I realized while posting it that some of that stuff may be trigger words. Just realize that in order to heal from porn addiction we must be honest and specific about our addictions.

Seems to be porn induced to me. I went through the same thing.

I agree about your last point wholeheartedly. But I have found that some have a lower trigger threshold than I do and probably others that have a higher trigger threshold than I. If you click edit and then click "Go Advanced" you will have more formatting options above your dialogue box. If you select the text after the word "into" to the end of that paragraph and then click the piece of cake icon, it will mask it to people that do not want the details. For those that do, they can hover the cursor across the black strips and can read what you have written. I hope that is clear ;)

It's most likely porn induced. Although some people are particularly drawn to differing fetishes because of past experiences.

I imagine you never had such fetishes beforehand. Quit porn, they should go away pretty quick.

It's just the coolidge effect; your brain always wants something new to get rewarded.

The most addicting thing about porn is the novelty and you probably know this, if you've watched the TED Talk.

And just for opennes sake; my addiction was first about [NSFW]lesbian porn[/NSFW], then about [NSFW]hardcore porn[/NSFW], then about [NSFW]incest porn[/NSFW], which now disgusts me.

That is so true NotAfraid. Also, well done - only a day and a half before you complete two weeks.

  10. And it's important to insist that it DOES get much much better with time. That's the whole point of the reboot and also one of the strongest arguments to do NoFap. As others said it is definitely linked to porn and the further away you drift from it, the more you get aroused by simple stuff. There is definitely hope Brkbyk :) Stay strong and focused, and you'll get to it!

IGY: "But I have found that some have a lower trigger threshold than I do and probably others that have a higher trigger threshold than I."

Not just that - most kinds of fetish are to most people disgusting. Isn't it interesting? What is appealing and addictive to some is disgusting to others. In fact, one good definition of addiction is that there is part in us that find something disgusting and repulsive and another part that attractive and irresistible. That's the reason why addictions tear us apart and destroy our integrity and well-being.

Hmm, but many fetishes are relatively harmless: feet (or other non-sexual body parts i.e hair); footwear and clothing (as well as the materials and fabrics they are made from); behaviours (like sneezing or yawning)...

You are right, I need to qualify my claim: (to an outsider) a fetish looks either disgusting OR pathetic/ridiculous.

NoFap to me is like someone's watching, so every time I have the urge I will think, "Nah, NoFap's watching and it said no.":D

For me it is two weeks of nofap now, with at least one wet dream in the mix. I can feel the strength and sense of purpose within myself from just this much. I have learned so much more about addiction psychology during this time, since I am replacing many of the PMO urges with learning about what is causing the urge in the first place. At this point my semi-informed opinion would be this:
    1. Addiction is always about self image. There is a deeply embedded sense of not being worthy, and this usually manifests as a powerful feeling of insecurity and need for some form of closure.
    2. The addictive substance (porn, coke, C2H5OH, food, work) fires up the reward center in the brain. As a child, the addict stumbles upon this, and finds how pleasurable it feels. So she/he starts repeating the behavior in order to feel the pleasure again and again, simply to achieve the closure that their inner insecurity demands.
    3. Long term addiction rewires the reward center in the brain, and only the addictive substance appears to fire up the reward center, but only when the dosage is increased. More coke, more food, more porn or more variety in porn, etc.
    4. It is possible to start rewiring your reward center. Being mindful is a very good way to set about this. Each time the open ended feeling of insecurity shows up, which you usually fill with the addictive substance, be alert and mindful as long as you can. If you fail, that's okay, as long as you remember to be mindful just a little more each time.
    5. It is possible to entirely reverse the pathology to the brain caused by addictive behavior, simply by being aware of the behavior as it manifests. Again, mindfulness to the rescue. The intense discomfort of resisting your addiction is actually because your addiction related neural network is firing on all cylinders, and your reward center is demanding a hit. Once you start seeing your discomfort as brain rewiring, you start slowly being okay with it. This process takes time for most people.
    6. More mindfulness meditation = more results. Learning to simply be in the present moment, and learning to gently nudge your attention back to the present, no matter what thoughts drag it away, is your best bet against any addiction. Once this faculty of moving your attention from a thought to the present moment becomes established, you can do so with ease when the addictive thought shows up.
    7. Addiction removal is only a fraction of the story. There is a wonderful life full of love, friends, harmony and energetic accomplishment that being addiction free is all about. To actively start living this life without waiting for the addiction to be gone is the proper way. Every added measure of energy you get from not indulging in your addiction must be devoted to living your ideal life. Now.

I know exactly what you're going through Brkbyk. I went through a phase of transgendered person interest myself. I have nothing against transgendered people, and if someone wants to be in a relationship with one, more power to them. The key though, in what you're describing about your experience, is this. Your mind takes on whatever shape you acclimate it to. You, like me, may have started watching transgendered person vids because of the novelty they offer. What's not to like - it's a hot girl, except she comes with her own penis. When you're least expecting it. The novelty is registered along with sexual excitement in the brain's reward center, and a rush of dopamine in the brain makes us feel powerful and excited. So we do it again, even though we're doing it simply for the brain chemical rush. Do it long enough, like the 7 months you mentioned, and the novelty is gone, but a firm neural wiring is established between how you get sexually excited and watching transgendered person porn. The key is understanding how addiction works, so you can make it work for you. See my earlier post above. Cheers!

Your brain needs more and more novelty. It is the Coolidge affect to the extreme. I had that going on for a while as well

I struggled with the exact same thing, but after just a few days of NoFap I'm starting to realize that [NSFW]feminization[/NSFW] isn't really something I'm in to. The porn will do that to you though, because your brain is confused between the pleasure it feels from the novelty of it and the actual idea of being [NSFW]feminized[/NSFW]. While I understand that that is a real thing that some men truly want, and there's nothing wrong with that, I've realized (and I'd bet you will too) that I'm perfectly happy with who I am and you and I both have just been bamboozled by brain chemicals.

As others have said, yes it is clearly porn-induced.

However, I want to make a point because many guys, heterosexual-guys, are mistaken about this:

Feeling comfortable in a sissy position is a whole other issue, and requires further discussion.

However, being turned on by transsexuals, it's typical of heterosexual males, NOT homosexuals.

I was real shocked the first time I heard this, but there's a big study I learned about in a great book (A Billion Wicked Thoughts), where it explains how male and female sexual triggers work, among other things.

At the same time, I was a little relieved...

I secretly watched that kind of porn out of the corner of my eye... while thinking there was something wrong with me, with all due respect. You know what I'm talking about.

How it works is, the male brain seeks for separate sources of excitement, like [NSFW]big boobs[/NSFW] or [NSFW]round asses[/NSFW], even [NSFW]dicks[/NSFW] (why that's exciting to males is another lengthy topic) not the whole person as, say, most girls do.

The more of those "separate parts" he finds in the same body, even if she's a transsexual, the more aroused he gets.

The whole, shocking point you need to understand is getting turned on by transgendered people is not a gay thing.

But I guess it becomes a more prevailing liking the more porn-addicted you become.

Hope it helps to shed some light on our complicated tastes.
