So frustrating, relapsed again, I always get to just before the 22 day mark and then lose it. Is there any significance here? it's always around day 20/21 and it only takes a small trigger and I simply can't resist it, my libido like a runaway train. Part of me feels that I deserve to relieve myself as I've abstained for so long. Why can't I get past this block?

Try and learn from every relapse and take steps to become even stronger the next time around. Identify what those triggers were. Eliminate them from your life if possible.

You can learn a lot from a relapse. Try to view it as a positive thing and learning experience. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Maybe next time you get around 20-23 days you could write yourself a schedule to keep yourself really busy to get through those times and over that hump.

I relapsed after 18 days and it took me 4-5 days to get back on the NoFap grind. I PMO'd about three times and Day 2 this time around was absolute hell for me. I was up for three and a half hours tossing and turning. I pulled down my pants to fap but instead I just laid there. I felt really pathetic, but I'm glad that I didn't do it.

Eventually I got out of bed, posted in my journal, took a cold shower, and went back to sleep.

    I wish you the best.

One of my accountability partners recommended that I try Brain buddy. I heard it's only for iphone though. I think you have to pay $2 a week for it too.

I haven't used it so I can't say much other than it was recommended to me.

It's because you're thinking about relapse at 22 days. Don't even think about relapse, push it out of your mind. As far as you're concerned porn and masturbation don't exist. THEY ARE NOT AN OPTION. YOU ARE DONE.

You don't "deserve" to "relieve" yourself.

    1. You don't need release. You will not explode.

    2. 22 days is not "so long". It is an accomplishment for sure, and you should be proud. When put in perspective though, this is a very short time, not long enough to work through that first hump. Not long enough to feel some benefits and break the cycle, break the habit.

    3. You deserve to be free of this. You deserve to reach your goal. You do not deserve to PMO, you deserve to triumph

3 weeks was always my limit as well. Once you get past it though, chances are you'll be good for a good while. I would follow the advice of the other people and keep yourself busy, schedule dates with people or something during that time. Stay at someone's house for 2 days. Just do whatever you can to get past 21.

Thankyou Vanilla for being so open, and for the good advice, I'm very grateful. I can relate to your experience too, sometimes I just lie there hand in waistband trembling with urges and knowing that it can go either way, because once you start there's no going back.

Every time I relapse I binge like crazy and it's a bad attitude, I know why I'm doing it, it is the attitude of "Well I've nothing to lose now, and if I have to reset my counter anyway I'm going to make the most of it"

But like you said, every relapse makes you stronger.

"relapse makes you stronger" - not every; it depends on whether you learn and make your next streak better.

For me, accountability has been the major help.

JayLa: I don't own a smartphone for deliberate reasons, so I can't use the app unfortunately.

Chillman: thank you, to know you struggled with the 3 week thing and to see your counter at 71 is encouraging for me :)

MelancholyW: thanks for the tough talk, I really appreciate that. I deserve to triumph.

Yeh I wasn't too sure about having to pay the $2 a week but thought its a small price to pay if it can really help. Plus I can take it everywhere I go
