Porn Subs

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 31, 2018.

  1. I have been looking at pictures (and videos) of models on Instagram, these past few days, while on reboot. I haven't watched porn or masturbated or anything.
I wanted to know if this counts as a relapse, do I need to reset my counter?

  2. It doesn't technically count as a relapse, but you definitely shouldn't be doing it. Social media in general can be a pit fall, but it is greatly amplified if you're looking at pictures of models. You will more than likely relapse soon if you continue to do it. I would personally advise from staying away from social media all together, but at the very least, stop following models.

Good luck, and be weary of pit falls!

  3. Thanks.

  4. I would say its down to how you think and feel personally. From my own personal issue with this because it really is a major problem for me at the moment, it does not really help it has all the hallmarks of the same behaviour of cruising for P, its also objectifying, to some extent as well it gets or leads to the release of dopamine. Most important of all its edging technically which done often enough can lead you back to M, then MO, then PMO, a slippery slope basically. To me I would not see it as a relapse but would try to adapt the same mentality towards it as I do with P, until you properly free from that for a while, your brain is going to still be messed up looking at it as you do P. To me theres nothing wrong with seeing the body or even desiring but more its about the state of mind we are in which is more geared to a P state of mind, rather than a healthier desiring mind, that just sees objects, images and release.

Very good advice- the act of scrolling through instragram and finding 'pleasing' images activates the reward centres in our brains. Because these models are no doubt attractive, looking at these pictures of them is the same as looking through a magazine full of sexy but unrealistic images of women, and will hinder your reboot.

It's up to you how you do this @Toughboy but beware of anything which isn't the real thing. The act of searching for and finding a mate sets off that reward circuitry, but in a much more long-winded and energy-consuming process than scrolling and tapping. If you make finding the reward too easy, you may end up with too little motivation to find the real thing.

Which is a shame, because a real pair of breasts feel much nicer than the cold exterior of an iPhone. I hope this helps, brother, and congrats on the long streak.

  6. Thanks guys, I appreciate your insight. I am motivated to not look through such pictures and videos again.
