Sexual Urges Rising

There is no specific way to stop urges esp first 2 weeks. After that it becomes easy, now I am in 4th week. if i get urge I am like let it be, i dont care. so my advice is try to some how cross 2 to 3 weeks. those are hardest

 

As an Orthodox Christian, the Church Fathers talk about a simple yet powerful prayer to help resist temptations that could lead to sin. This prayer is known as "The Jesus Prayer" or "Noetic Prayer"

"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Have Mercy Upon Me, a sinner."

The key for this isn't to focus your energy solely on "sinner," as it is tool to help us humble ourselves. (We are all sinners).

Luke 18:13 "God, be merciful to me a sinner" is the foundation to this prayer.

You are asking for Christ to help strengthen you. Remember that sin removes us from the grace of God. One of my favorite quotes actually happens to be about the passions.

"The passions enslave people, destroy their reasoning, bind their will and make them sin. And from repetition of a sin, we have habit, which is when we commit wickedness even if we don't want to, and that then leads to perdition"
- St. Nikodimos the Athonite

By resisting this temptation, you WILL strengthen your relationship with Him and that is obviously one of our main goals here. Another major reason is that if you don't cut it now, it WILL carry on into your marriage life.
