    Hi guys,

I've been hearing about nofap a lot but have always been hesitant to start it because of my fear of flatlines. But now i feel the need to do it. This is because for the last few months or so, I have began to notice that when I am aroused i am unable to get erections unless I start to touch myself, and even then i need to continually touch it to stay erect. I have a few questions before I start nofap. I am convinced that this is because of my porn addiction that I've had for three or four years.

    1) Will i be able to recover my ability to get erections just by thoughts, as I was before?

    2) Have I done any permanent damage from watching porn and masturbating, and will i be more prone to ED in the future?

    3) I have a girlfriend who I have not had sex with yet, when I do will there be a problem since i'd be on nofap at the time.

    Thanks in advance

    1) When you are addicted you need to have a lot of persistence and patience to recover, but yes, you can change that through abstinence.
    2) That is completely up to you. I wouldn't use the term "permanent", but I would use the the term "more difficult" if you spend more time with PMO or if you use worse pornographic material.
    3) Some people experience problems because of porn, however, with abstinence those complications are reduced progressively.
    4) Welcome and good luck with journey!

As I said, damages can always be undone through hard work. However, to answer your question, it would depend on your goals. Some people abstain only from porn, others from porn and masturbation, it varies. However, I'm more a fan of the last one since sex thoughts often become a trigger to porn for me. But definitely, you can go back if you persist in leaving it behind. If you have any other questions we all can help.
