Everything in life which you take action towards has a consequence and unless there's a consequence, there's a reason to take that action.
And In case of self-development the consequence is a better life,a hotter girl, more income but more importantly good habits.
The main reason why we are on nofap is for self-development.And doing streaks without taking action towards your pre-defined goal ,will absolutely NOT contribute to self development.
The most important part of your Porn abstinence journey is to take action towards your goal whether its to get a hot girl ,or to build a business, etc.
I came here on nofap almost 12 days back thinking that I'm going to be successful in all areas of my life. And to be honest i feel the exact same way, I felt 12 days back(full of urges to relapse, regret, etc).
This happened because Nofap alone does not make you successful, its just a tiny part of self-dev.There are people who fap every single day and yet their lives are better than ours.

You need a lot more than 12 days - 90-120 days is how long your body takes to recover from the dopamine addiction you have. Then you can see real benefits.

Trust me buddy, as someone who has never gone longer than 6 days, you are already ahead of my score.

You are becoming a BETTER man by resisting these triggers. Women are going to love you so much once you have gained control over your primal urges.

Just avoid any sexual content on television and the Internet. I am avoiding WOMEN for the next 30 days to be safer. Thankfully I am not in a relationship at the moment.

  5. Agreeing with your whole post.
But understand that part of the recovery is the long abstinence, your brain needs time to rewire and heal. And self development is what will keep you going.

  6. Yeah man, no disrespect but 12 days is about the time withdrawal symptoms (may) start kicking in.

True recovery from long term porn addiction can take about 1-2 years. It's basically a drugless hard drug addiction. The effect porn has on the reward circuitry in the human brain isn't much different from the effects drugs like cocaine or heroin can cause.

Unfortunately, to fully understand this, it's often too late. Withdrawal from pmo addiction is hell.

Self-development in other areas of life is indeed necessary, but it should be done free from addiction. Please never expect to overcome such a serious addiction in less than 2 weeks. Some claim 90 days can reverse damage to the brain's reward circuitry, but for many this really is a best-case-scenario.

PAWS (post acute withdrawal syndrome) is an ugly reality for people who've had a very serious addiction to pmo. Symptoms can linger for up to 2 years. Worst symptoms seem to be anxiety and/or depression so severe that they can be mistaken for psychiatric disorders that have nothing to do with addiction.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking relapses after 90 days won't do any harm if your addiction was bad.

Hey everyone I'm not telling that 2 weeks is enough to quit porn or 2 week must be the time.I'm just saying that Nofap alone does not make you successful. What I'm all saying is that even if you maintain a streak of about 90 days or so,Its not as beneficial as developing yourself simultaneously.

  9. NoFap is not cure to all your life-problems. Most of the time PMO addiction is a symptom of much bigger thing in your life: anxiety, depression etc. NoFap is a beautiful journey and learns you about more about your person and how to be a happier person.

  10. Hmm sorry brother, but I feel your looking for excuses to go back to PMO. The title says it all "NoFap does not work". You should change it to (NoFap is not everything), or (there is more then NoFap). I'm just saying watch out for those thoughts because they can lead you back. Be strong and keep resisting. Addiction is no joke. I wish you good luck.

faiz ahmed you are 100% correct.. just stopping porn or masturbating etc isnt the elixir of life... it is a massive issue for people though and tackling it can result in personal benefits.. on the road to a better life for that person.. which varies for everyone what that actually means.

I guess a good way of looking at it is like your playing a computer game you cant go and tackle the end of level boss when you dont even know how to play the game!

  12. Oh and screw those people who say they fap everyday without problems etc. We are here to help ourselves and others with an addiction, we're not here to hear about how many girls people can get while still fapping.

That's not the message I get from the world around me.

Had I joined NoFap 11 years ago, I'd have gotten so much of my life back. All those wasted years. Lost opportunities.

    Well done Sherlock Holmes.
Most people who are here longer time than 2 weeks already know it and agree with the content of the post that nofap just gives you opportunity to address where your life is fucked up.

But just your title is misleading and seems to me like a click-bait. Nofap works but it depends what problem you are trying to solve it.

It's like when you say antibiotics do not work. And you are right if you try to cure hay-fever with them.

  16. One thing I've learned over the years is that the higher ups plan on keeping us in a lower vibrational field. They don't want people to raise their awareness and reach their higher self. They want us to keep acting out on negative feelings like anger, lust, jealousy, shame, pride, hate and you name it... instead of positive feelings like love, compassion, empathy, understanding, confidence. Hence the constant distractions everywhere, advertisements with half naked women-boards and all the models on T.V all the porn the list goes on.

This is true and obviously life and mental health actually still isn't that great for most as this advertising sells like hot cakes in one form or another!!

But also just to say the choice is always in our hands if we want to take a trip down to the fantasy realm.. no matter how bad our lives have been, we make the choice at the time and the ultimate responsibility is in our hands 'to not given in to temptation'...

money or 'wealth' or power in its various forms will always control... and nobody Ive met yet in my life has avoided that power... everything has a value!

And we are all guilty in many ways... and would I trust the person that claims to not be like that... hmmmmm NO! lol not in this life im afraid!

Look there are 2 types of people who use porn:
1.The people who have problems like insomnia, lack of confidence, feeling of unworthyness, unhappiness, lack of real partners, and the problems go on and on
2.The people who want to just enjoy whilst there lives are great(They work to keep their lives great and happy, and use porn to enjoy sometimes).

I dont want to talk about the 2nd category but the 1 st one because these people (which include you and me) use porn to get away from their problems which have and Its important to stop watching it because its hindering your progress in life.

    You mention the higher ups.

For me, I have been led down this path of self-destruction thanks to my closest friends in the college dorm. They were all obsessed with sex, female nudity, and pornography. I was frequently bullied by them and their female friends with childish stuff like "You should get yourself operated on", "Go for a sex change".

I never got distracted in college but that's where I learned to objectify women although never agreed with it till that fateful day I grabbed hold of my junk for the very first time.

Life has never been the same again. Sure I lost my virginity eventually and had plenty of sexual adventures but I have permanently degraded myself in my own eyes.

I feel as if something has died inside me. That innocent happy-go-lucky person I used to be. Still am deep inside.

Good thing -- I've permanently got rid of those idiots in my life. They are not welcome even on my Facebook account.
