Hello from Brooklyn

    Hi all, 25 year old male here. Lifelong MO and on and off PMO user trying to work on better controlling my MO habit and focus my energies on seeking sex in a relationship with a partner. First started getting interested in nofap last August when I was deep into a PMO phase. I am happy to say that looking at people’s stories here motivated me to quit watching porn and it has had a really positive impact on my life. Happy to say I have been porn free since last August. Had a 47-day streak that ended in sex with a partner whom I have been on and off for periods of a couple months since then, but I have found my MO habit to be hard to control in between times when I am not dating.

    I tend to turn to MO in times of stress with work and to help sleep and I am noticing that it’s hard for me to resist the urge. Lately, all the stress from my job and with all of the frequent MO I have been having problems having erections despite having a high sex drive. I aim to do a reboot (normal or contemplating hard mode) to try and learn to control my MO habit and channel that energy into a healthy sexual relationship with a partner. I wanted to join NoFap to hold myself accountable with the community and to be involved with everyone on their journey.     I find mediating and listening to classical music helps with stress.

    Welcome! Sounds like you've already started to get your head around how to reboot, but you're definitely in the right place for support and encouragement.

    Welcome @johnsmith2094 ! I think if I make it pass the initial days, its usually stress and difficulty sleeping that build up and lead me to relapse too. Good to be mindful of that. I wonder what would happen if I made it through that without returning to PMO. Maybe something cool. Only one way to find out.
