"Porn" production should be banned. Seriously.

I support the ban of pornography. However, it is very difficult to enforce the ban you proposed. We should start small first like enforcing age verification to all users of porn sites. That helps our children a lot. All of us started looking at porn in our teenage. Ask all big companies of Internet to create family friendly environment by default such as enforcing Google Safe Search and removing all pornography contents on social media sites such as Youtube, Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest. Social media sites are a very dangerous place that I can't let my child used it.

Before porn websites, I used to spend a lot of time exploring through YouTube. Then google showed me the existance of porn websites. You are right on the dangers of social media. And the age limitations are more important because from what I have learned in young ages not only it creates addiction. It also makes children more vulnerable to not learning the difference between the concept of sex as part of growing up and the lies that pornography promotes.

    God Save the Porn!

Banning never helped to solve any problem. Early education and awareness do.

Instead of blaming your problems on external factors, stop playing being victim of something (you want to shut down) and learn to win your internal fights and improve yourself!

Imho porn should never be illegal, also drugs should never be illegal.

People should take upon themselves the responsibility to not ruin their life with drugs or porn, and that is all. It is one of the challenges of life.

Banning porn would be a very bad and dictatorial idea. Remember how banning alcohol during prohibition backfired miserably and hurt tens of millions of people.

Porn is the dark side, but without the dark side - how can we train up Jedis?

  11. I don't know who you are and what you believe but I don't have any objection to this idea... I'm with you, sir!

  12. Porn should be banned as the narcotic and drug should be. That's why we have government, to protect people from bad things like porn, and banning something is the government's right. But if they don't , it's our job to protect ourselves, savvy?

i think that porn should not be ban.......instead of it awareness must be created among people.........
if in future any of us attain the potential to influence people then we should educate them regarding the miseries of this addiction............because i am realizing that porn is one of the major factors in increasing amount of sexual crimes........
and crimes in like these ofcourse victim's life is affected but along with it the culprit also destroys themselves..........
the most dangerous thing about this pmo addiction is that people consider it normal

Total bullshit. What countries are you talking about? The only I know is a Turkey, I was there 4 times, have many friends from there and they actually told me when we were talking about it that although porn is blocked on Internet, everybody is using VPN to bypass the block and watch the porn anyway. Plus mafia benefit greatly from blocking as well since they sell all illegal stuff including pornography.

Every single time you ban something (alcohol, drugs, porn):
    1. People always find some ways to bypass it, because they are still addicted and uneducated
    2. Mafia profit greatly from it (distributing it illegally). If there is a demand there is always somebody offering it.
    3. Government looses money from taxes, (usually end in mafia pockets insteads) that could be used for awareness complains, prevention, and recovery of addicts.

Right way is actually to make all of it legal, tax it with 50% tax, and use those money purely on educating people about negative affects and how often it is addictive early from childhood, make them understand how bad it is for them and and also money for recovery centers to help those already addicted. This is the only way to eventually eliminate any addiction problem. No banning will ever help, because it do not deal with already addicted and uneducated people.

  16. I was addicted to masturbation long before I had access to internet pornography. Even after I had access to porn, the choice to go there was entirely my own. I can't really blame anyone out there for my decisions. My mistakes were entirely my own.

I will say that there's a huge need for a lot more education. When I first started masturbating excessively, I had no idea that it could be so damaging. Had I known more about the effects of what I was doing I may have made some better decisions. At the time, I thought my activities were harmless and that's where pornography needs a HUGE WARNING LABEL, like what they put on cigarette cartons and beer bottles.

Having said that, I don't believe in the path of making things illegal; that's an affront to liberty. We now live in a society where people are encouraged not to accept responsibility for themselves. It explains how we've become a society of 40 year old children. Everything is relentlessly someone else's fault, while we blame our faults on complexes, isms, and systemic injustices. Rather than claiming the power that is rightfully ours to run our lives, we exchange our responsibilities for places on mantle of victimhood.

The power to change has always been ours, but the first step proves most difficult: We must accept responsibility for ourselves. It's not some ineffable industrial porn complex. It's us. We made decisions. The consequences are ours too.

Absolutely, self restraint and determinism are seen as conservative and archaic. We blame our problems on 'the man' because its easier than owning our own bullshit shadow. As Jordan Peterson says, clean up your own room before you go out 'saving the world'.

I politely disagree: many hundreds of millions of people being lazy, selfish and lacking self control - this is what made the world a worse place to be. Not a few hundred movies or studios or starlets.

Hi guys, I'm back. I was for a month or so "away" - as in, "without access to a secure computer" - as in, the one I own.

The idea looks nice on paper, but fails on the real world. Awareness about porn almost always just lead to porn addiction. Which isn't curious, because porn is much easier to obtain, consume AND get rid of than any "phisical" drug. Unless we're talking about porn magazines, in which case the user is a moron.

So, the ads from free porn sites are going to be taxed? I don't think that'll work. The basis for banning is the fact that PORN IS IMMORAL - it preys on victims the same way narcotics do. Porn producers profit over this. It ain't different from drug dealers, in fact, other than the nature of the drug and legality, they're actually the same thing.

Since porn is dramatically easier to distribute (and turns a profit even when it's freely done), the impact is heavier in our societies. That would call for some serious regulation, at least.

You may want to check these numbers. It's way more than hundreds. And don't even get me started on Hentai...

Again, laziness has little to do with it - in fact it may even the other way around. Check out Japan (again, I'm not addressing the Hentai issue) and their stance on both laziness and porn.

I'll actually "spoil" it anyway. They hate laziness and produce a LOT of porn (again, not counting hentai). Some say they produce over twice the U.S. porn videos - professional ones - but I don't think this is actually true.
