    Hi,

I was feeling weird this morning on day 15.
Actually I had a really extreme feeling of stress.

I had an extremely real nightmare, for the fourth night in a row.
I decided I had to M though I did not use any reference,
nor think about anything P related.
I was just seriously concerned about my health.

I think after all the years I might be in overproduction mode(S).
I read that its hardest on day 5 and day 7.
It was seven days since I saw my girlfriend and
compared to my usual 20 or so times a week I O I gave in
once this week out of health concerns.

I read that it gets easier after day seven, the website said
things return to normal.. Is this true??

Yes an invisible force had a gun to your head telling you you must masturbate.

Well if you goals are no porn, okay that's fine, but in the future you'll want to pin down all three.

No PMO, we've all been here before, and the only real goals are no PMO.

Lol, lets just say it wasn't invisible. I wish I could tell you about it. It was pretty messed up. Anyway... I'm going to try not to M, I actually felt really good with no M. The only problem was the nightmares, I felt like I was grabbed by an invisible force and it hurt kind of.. Really weird.. Not actually sure if I was still dreaming or not.. Thanks for keeping it real though lol.. I guess the worry took over, Will I hold on past the fifteen days this time with M? UGHHHHH... I know its actually going to be harder now, I'm going to try harder to to make sure that doesn't happen again. Next time I get to day seven I'm running three hours..

You should set your own goals. But give it everything and don't think to easy about it.

Just be clear with what your own goals are and hold yourself accountable to them. For me, it's no porn and no masturbation.

Thanks KrmGrn, I'm glad you said that. I'm feeling pretty bad about it, I understand critical feedback is needed. I'm gonna keep going with a no PMO goal but separating it into two subgoals no p and no mo. Hopefully this was only a setback.

I'm trying to be extremely careful to not mo again anytime soon to keep myself from going back to the internet too much. I really like your understanding of this internet addiction, I agree with you,

the only thing is I know on the internet that P is the most addictive.. In any case today will be hard :(.

Its weird because I reset on day 15 also... probably a coincidence but it in my mind it was almost like it said '2 weeks is a long time, longest without PMO you've had for years, it won't hurt to do it now see what happens'.... Its almost like at this point our minds decided to do something in order to get its fix...

I got no basis of science to back that up but I have read a few people relapsing at this point.

Someone said this to me once...
'I am walking along the street, and I see a hole, I fall into the hole, I climb out of the hole and carry on... the next day I am walking along, I see the hole, I fall into the hole, I climb out and carry on....
The next day I am walking along, I see the hole, I AVOID THE HOLE, I feel good that I missed it this time and I continue on... I am walking along and I fall into a hole...'

Now its better when said verbally but basically it means we can see the problem but we tend gravitate towards it even though we know its there, eventually we will deal with the problem and move on, but then another problem will appear, and another obstacle to get passed. So long as we can learn not to fall down the same hole over and over, its OK, but there will always be another hole somewhere.

I guess I am trying to say that so long as you keep trying to avoid the hole, you could fall down it 100 times, but you will eventually avoid it all together and then you will never fall down it again.

David, I know the nightmares are disturbing and, if that wasn't bad enough, your dreams are now becoming more vivid. This leaves you feeling disturbed and uncomfortable, and sometimes tired. Perhaps you even question, on occasion, your sanity.

I went through that for a while but by the time I hit day 14, the nightmares had stopped. I don't know why so many people experience vivid nightmares when they start having vivid dreams after starting nofap, but they stop. You just have to endure it and just know that the nightmares will eventually pass.

Stay strong, you can do it.

If you don't want to Masturbate you are going to have to destroy the social construct that if you don't for 90 days you're dick will fall of, or your balls will hurt for extended long periods of time, or you are doing it for your health. Many, have done it without girlfriends either. So I say give it a shot. I did it but I still orgasmed with the gf, but as I said some have done it with no sexual release. IF you want to go for 200 days or beyond without masturbating well... That is up to you.

I think the real reason is that when you are truly deeply addicted to porn you will not be able to masturbate to no mental images, and just do it for "health concerns" and as Adjoint said, you will most likely binge. And when you mastur-binge you will eventually watch porn again and relapse.

I think it is due time for this community's starter and/or the starting members to form a poll and wiki thread of consistent benefits of not masturbating, for longer then 90 days. As there are few who are actively on here that have achieved that. Because while the benefits of quitting porn are thankfully more understood and widespread the benefits of not masturbating at all beyond 90 days, is not as recorded or consistent.

Okay clearly there is some BS still circling... So let me clarify the situation.
    ^^Hey I'm doing this a lot hehe.

Guess what unless you're getting MO from your girlfriend anything else is unhealthy. You can make as many excuses as you wish, I had some invisible force telling me to, I felt depressed, my cat died... Whatever. As I said your goal was no porn so props for this. But let me tell you by allowing MO to be part of your cycle you will eventually fill your thoughts with fantasy and this can be as bad as porn. You wasting your life fluid when it could be harnessed for better effects.

Look dude, don't beat yourself up because you relapsed. That is why people binge. They say "Oh frick, I screwed up; I suck; this is too hard; FAP FAP FAP FAP", In other words, they get depressed and throw in the towel.

The fact is, you have accomplished something big. You shouldn't be satisfied with what success you had; but don't let anyone discredit you or take that away from you. You are starting over with not Fapping but you need to apply what you learned from your previous experience and build on that success.

As for your dreams, I've heard a lot of guys complaining about those types of dreams. Everyone has said the dreams go away. Ever had a wet dream before? Your body knows when it needs to ejaculate. You don't need to jack off for any reason. I want to warn you that it doesn't necessarily get easier after 7 days. It didn't for me. Everyone has a different experience, even though many people do see similarities. For me, I have been making things hard on myself by fueling porn culture in my head through bikini type images. In essence, I am creating urges for myself. I am the one making things difficult for me. If you want your brain to calm down then don't blue-ball yourself with suggestive material. I don't know your situation, but think about that and see if you need to make any changes.

tweeby is damn right. Porn and masturbation feed off of each other. Having only one as a goal makes it harder, not easier to stop the activity you are trying to cut out. My best friend went a long time without doing porn, and it worked for like 6 weeks which was cool. He thought he could only beat one at a time but eventually his masturbation/fantasy drove him to go back to porn and he has still not recovered today.

Don't feel bad. Guilt increases the odds of relapse. (got that from the book 'Willpower Instinct')

Feel good that you are even trying.

Focus on what you did to make it to Day 15. What worked? How did you get that far? Do more of that!

I share a portion of my opinion with tweeby, and a portion of my opinion with yours. In regards to the life fluid, it is known that semen contains many vitamins and minerals, and after I masturbate I always feel exhausted and depleted. Not so much with sex.

Now to all the other forum members who do NOT wish to pursue real life relationships, and can NOT distinguish the difference between jacking of by yourself and the difference between real life sex which by the way is the entire purpose or should be the purpose of nofap. Go ahead and take on board the advice of this forum member.

    Adjoint I salute you sir.

If you don't know the differences that real sex brings to the table over PMO or just MO by yourself you're wasting your time here.
