It is a movement?

  1. What up guys nofappers , ladies, and gents, newbies and veterans, conquerors, heroes
    whatever label you give yourself.

I am on "NOFAP" for quite a while now around 5 years maybe longer. When I was around 7-8 I have seen my first porn movie on late night television I live in Europe when it comes to sex on tv, it is more liberated here and you can see some bobs and vaganas while having your breakfast. I first started fapping at the age of 11 and since then it was something I was doing on a daily basis. I haven't had a computer or internet at home until I was 18 so the first hardcore porn I was watching was on DVD at the age of 16 before that I was just wanking to softcore porn on national television. I am just having flashbacks being up late and anticipating to fap to these badly dubbed softcore flicks crazy how real images can be. Fast forward may 25. of 2018 I decided to sign up because I really need support and daily reminders to get rid of this habit for good. The longest I have gotten is 6 weeks other than that the max time was just a week. I am 28 now and I don't like going back to porn and fapping to cope with things. I don't need it to change my life I am really happy it is just that I am done with it and I want to leave it behind and look at it only from the rearview. Today is again day one and hope it is for the last time day one.

  3. Hi. Welcome to forum! 6 weeks is amazing!

Make sure you crate a personal journal thread in Reboot Logs section and blog there on a regular basis. As well as just generally be active participant in various forum discussions. I recommend this to everybody new here because it's the major thing that helped me when I was first starting. Just lurking on forums, reading and learning is great. But it usually is so much more powerful to engage. It helps to keep us motivated and accountable when we are active part of community. And keeps this in front of our minds so we don't forget about importance of it and slip away in our old habits. Sharing is also therapeutic. This is a major reason why AA meetings work so good. But that was developed before internet era. These days we can get most of the same benefits online through communities like this. So don't underestimate the power of active participation.

I would also like to suggest you to look into mindfulness meditation. It has helped me personally tremendously to learn how to deal with urges. It takes a while to get good at it and notice results, so you need to be consistent with it, but once you do it's very powerful. It has been used by sages for thousands of years to deal with various issues of the mind. And in recent decades the science is also catching up to what ancient sages have know for centuries. Meditation these days are widely used as very effective tool by psychologists for treating addiction and by neurologists for supporting recovery of the brain. It is a great exercise for the brain the same way as jogging is great exercise for the body. Check out this Ted talk, it gives a good idea of what's it about when it comes to philosophy. As far as practical side of it there is this awesome smartphone app called Headspace for guided meditations to get you started.

Wish you lot's of strength and success in your reboot journey!

Took me an hour to fight the feeling with loads of reminders but finally I conquered my mind again and kicked open PMO out. I am gonna post later again probably before I sleep successfull day everyone and remember you are getting better it is inevitable.

Great beginning, buddy .. stay strong . Your new life is ahead of you ..
Try to shift thoughts not push/resist directly ... not thinking about something makes you think about it .. just shift thoughts
    Best of luck

  6. Today is day 3 I guess, I don't really count all I care about is rebooting my system. It is 5 am in the morning I went to bed past midnight so I roughly had 4-5 hrs of sleep and I feel good well rested and ready to carpe diem . I was really productive yesterday and the day seemed endless. Energy levels are exponentially increasing and so does acceptance of others and selflove. Like always when I am on NoFap I am less hungry because I don't waste my lifeforce on pmo. I am very glad I signed up feels so much better than just riding solo on that journey in my opinion nofap is the most supportive and compassionate movement from what I've read so in these forums. Stay in power direct your life.
