Can porn turn you gay ?

These kinds of feelings and thoughts tend to emerge after you've gone off porn for awhile. You're probably not gay, I think most gay people know from a young age. You are used to avoiding your sexuality by submerging it with porn. Now you are being confronted by it and you've never learned to deal with it. Just relax and take it one day at a time.

 

I do believe porn leads to a progressive series of us acting out in more extreme ways to meat our dopamine needs. At first normal porn excites us but then do you notice how you have to search longer for good porn? Well over time you start to get into something considered weird or abnormal and so on... for everyone this takes different paths but I'm sure that for some guys it can push them in the gay direction because of what porn is doing to their mind. It gives them the wrong idea of sex. At my worst and lowest state I was going to friends to gay bars and making our with men in a drunken state. (don't judge me)
But think of some of the worst sex addicts you know, like locally where I like there was a guy caught in a bathroom stall at a day care masturbating looking at the little kids. well I can almost guarantee he didn't start like that as a teen he probably started looking at porn and with years and years of progressive destruction of his morals he ended up there. Right where the enemy wanted him

 

No porn can't "make" you gay but it can definitely make you think that you're gay. Even watching straight porn, you're still looking at men naked and the action is often very focussed on the man. The men are portrayed in a pseudo-masculine and dominant way in porn (with the women being submissive). It sounds like there's possibly a feeling of insecurity in not matching the "masculine" ideal that you see in porn. Keep going with coming off of porn and the world will seem different. I'm sure you will be fine in the long run.

 

I think this is the real underlying issue.

You are probably - as many others - a rather vulnerable person, oscillating, fluctuating, possibly manic-depressive or similar.

This type of personality has many positive aspects, but you need to take care of yourself.
You must take especially take care of all your initial sensory inputs and thoughts, because these lead to your actions and are defining your life.

 

Don't stress too much. From what I've seen and felt this is definitely a side effect of coming off of porn. I too have been having weird fantasy daydreams and really embarrassing dreams at night and it's definitely from quitting PMO. I'm definitely not gay but porn has turned me into some sort of fantasy obsessed monster. Time for a change! Seriously, though, don't worry too much about the gay thoughts. Keep strong!

I agree it can make you think you're gay, it can make you obsessive and mess up your head.

The thoughts definitely go away don't worry. Eventually what porn does is it makes you turn to extreme thoughts to get that kick. Fetishes, gay porn... If straight porn starts to become boring that's what you start looking at to get a new high.

Give it a couple of weeks and girls will never have looked better.

But, it is reversible. From your words its clear you are naturally attacted to women, and if you finish your reboot successfully and continue to forming positive experiences with women you can put all doubt behind you.

 

lol, no... If you were gay, you wouldn't need to make a post to figure it out. It would be impossible not to know. You would be getting erections for men (not women). You would be fantasizing about having sex with men (not women). Your porn of choice would be gay porn (not straight). And this would have already been going on for years..

Interesting to see how many people there are doubting their sexuality because of porn. I did, a while ago, have very severe HOCD, it's a lot milder now but still pretty irritating. Best advice I can give you is to not dwell on it, it's going to be the only thing you can think about for a while, and that's okay. Do all you can to distract yourself, don't try to reason with it, because you can't. Just ignore it. That's the only thing that's helped in any considerable way for me.

 

By accident about 3 years ago, I came upon some sissy porn, and I got completely aroused. I won't say what kind of pictures they were since I'm new here and I don't want to invoke any triggers for others.

I can say that at first I was like WTF when I first saw these images and got aroused, but then I just went for it. For a period of time I was completely into sissy porn. So I guess I became bi-curious at age 48. It subsided after time.

Gay men are consistently aroused sexually, by males, it is not a something that changes overtime they have specific preference that stays with them. When they want sexual interactions, they consistently seek other males and lack interest in females. They lack interest in females because thinking about those interactions does not arouse them and so there is no inherent pleasure that would incite them to seek sex with a female, it does not bring reward or satisfaction.

When person experiences high level of pleasure, or strong arousal, dopamine released in high amounts makes intimacy with another persona natural, however it makes almost anything that feels good feel natural, including intimacy with same sex. During strong arousal heterosexual males can feel completely open to intimacy with another male, due to dopamine effects. After these effects wear off - person may have doubts about why they did this or that and begin to question their sexuality. But the problem is that strong pleasure will suppress judgement and self control, this mechanism allows us to accept many experiences that we may otherwise find disgusting, painful or scary, but this is also why an addict can not stop taking the drug, despite knowing how bad it is.
