I'm gay I've known I was since age 11 which was the exact time I started masturbating and watching porn.

Everytime I've done nofap I've had thoughts of having sex with women. I never have these thoughts when I do masturbate/watch porn like normal.

I just feel an urge (its not as strong as my urge towards guys) to have sex with a nice young woman around my age. To put it bluntly I just want to feel that kind of pleasure..

I don't know if me abstaining from masturbating/porn is making my mind less cluttered and showing my true self. My true sexuality - Bisexual.

Also with doing nofap I feel way more masculine.

Anyone have any thoughts? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hey man. Nobody can tell you what you are and what you're not. I believe some of this neuroplasticity stuff but if you've identified as gay for a long time that's your choice brother. I've kinda experienced the same thing as of late but opposite. I always have been attracted to women but after a really bad, emotionally abusive relationship and the use of porn as an escape I started getting sexually drawn towards men more. This just doesn't feel like myself but this is where I'm currently at. I'm going to continue with NoFap and hope that my conditions improve. When I've stayed loyal to NoFap before I've definatley felt far more masculine but I believe that somtimes, due to high stress situations, the brain can rewire itself to prevent insanity from kicking in. Just go with the flow man. If you want to have sex with a woman than go for it dude. Nothing stopping you.

I agree but you don't have to attack this man's identity. He could be in a really sensitive place at the moment. I'm glad you've had success but there's no need to go around and be a heretical douchebag.

I'm not attacking him, I'm just explaining what's going on.The only reason it sounds douchy/aggressive is because it's the truth and we feel threatened by raw truths.

From my own experience, shoving the raw truth down someone's throat usually does more harm than good. Truth or not, it's probably a good idea to be a little more diplomatic so that you can actually help an individual instead of belittle them. Regardless of what your intent was, it comes off as an attack, that's the truth.

Hi @Woodland-Soul I wonder if your use of porn wired your brain to think you are attracted to males, and while on nofap, your true self is beginning to appear, who is attracted to women.

I wondered if I was bi-sexual because I was always attracted to females, but when I began to watch P, I watched things with men or trans-gender people, and it would excite me in a different way. I wondered if the attraction to males was inherent, too.

I think its possible that both are inherent in some way. Perhaps some degree of homosexuality is more common than we are taught, but it is repressed.

I guess I would say just be open-minded about your true orientation. In the mean time, stay clean. Sometimes confusion about my orientation makes me want to go watch more P and do MO to it as an "experiment". I will be like, 'Wait, will I still get aroused from seeing women?' or 'do i really get aroused from seeing men?' but once I look some up I am really courting a relapse or at least a reset.

So try to just sit with the uncertainty. It's okay not to know. You will be okay.

I agree with some of your points but being bisexual or homosexual isn't anything to be ashamed of. If my sexuality has been induced by porn use then thats not a good thing but I will not feel like satan....

I do believe jacking off too much can rob a man of their masculine side (gay or str8)

I remember vividly how I became to realease I'm gay. I watched nudes of a woman on tv and remember trying to react but couldn't. But then I saw a nude of a man and then I did react. So it dawned on me.

So I don't think watching porn induced my sexuality but could have possibly suppressed my attraction to women (if it does exist)

Also with identity wars and the power of labelling yourself may be that has an effect?

I honestly believe that all that LGBT nonsense comes from PMO that changes people's brains (and I already explained how).C'mon dude, you think that the fact that you feel more masculine/more attracted to chicks without PMO is a coincidence ? You yourself EXPERIENCED it ! You yourself can CONFIRM that ! When I use the word "Satan", it's not about shame or to be religious, it's about ego/selfishness 'cause sex addiction/lust/PMO is a very selfish piece of shit that objectifies both men and women and fucks up your sexuality as a result.

Well keep us updated. You come across as an attractive person already so I think youre doing great. I am just guessing here but aswell as you are noticing other people I'm sure they are noticing your good vibes too!

    Hey man,

I don't want to attack anyone but sometimes you'll come across people who want to help but their methods are perhaps not the best. If you're bisexual, that's cool. If you're anything else, that's cool too. What's most important is that you have the courage to ask yourself these questions without letting the potential answer scare you. You seem to be in the right mind space already. I went to see a psychologist because I had questions about my sexuality too. I had always been attracted to women and so when these questions popped up about homosexuality, I became scared! I realised for the first time that heterosexuality was actually armour that protected me against the prejudices that other people faced on a daily basis and without it I would be at the mercy of homophobes and extremists. Though I eventually stopped worrying about the thoughts I was having, I did learn to accept that my sexuality is mine and that it only needs to make sense to me. So, my own questions were definitely attributed to my porn use, as with many people, but this cannot be used as a blanket excuse to convince everyone that sexuality is normative. Keep questioning fearlessly. It's your right :emoji_wink:

PMO makes people gay, that is proven. But still, people only want to hear what they WANT to ear, not what they NEED to hear.

The more important question is what about being gay is problematic?

Being gay and being masculine is not a contradiction.

No, watching porn doesn't make you gay, straight or anything. I believe we have more degrees of freedom than we think and so we can experience arousal from men or women while identifying as straight or gay. We just stop reppressing it too much? I don't know.

Being heterosexual is not a law of nature, there are exceptions to every "rule" and homosexuality might be the best one. He is gay, that's it, maybe he is bi, but there is nothing "strange" about it, it is as normal as it has always been.
