Tell me why I shouldnt watch porn. Iv invalidated many of my reasons.

Discussion in 'Self Improvement' started by BestVersionToday, Jun 4, 2018.

  1. I want to do a 90 day reboot with a 30 day milestone.

Iv come to the realization that I use to really care what other people think due to losing self esteem and needing external validation. I am now a self loving, self respecting, self validating happy person.

    IV realized the following

    - Porn is not really dirty. I should not be ashamed of pleasuring myself to porn. Its other people having sex and im pleasuring myself because outside of sex and drugs and sky diving its the most pleasurable thing. Its usually an escape from stress anyway.

    - Its done in isolation, it IS a secret, but thats because you cant do that in public so you do it in your privacy. Sex is a secret and not openly spoken about and neither is fapping anything to be ashamed of.

    - Its not socially acceptable and not openly spoken about because its a sex act and we dont talk about it openly. You dont want your family and friends know but its still nothing to be ashamed about.

    - Its not admirable, but its nothing to be ashamed of either. Its just pleasuring yourself. So what. Yes we should be in relationships but it doesnt make you bad or a loser. Everybody does it or has done it particularly in the passed 10-15 years of the internet and last 3-5 years of cable. I read a statistic children are first exposed to hardcore pornography at age 11 and its moreso girls. Holly fuck now that is WRONG! My children are BANNED from the computer :confused::oops:

    So what is the problem?
    Its addiction
    And if its under 18

What if you dont have adiction, just a habit? What if you try to stop it but you still do it 3 times a week, 4 or 5 times and some times only twice a week? Why would you want to quit porn? I'll speak for myself.

    - Stronger masculine energy and sexual energy. (Aura) To attract a women that loves me. PMO can soften a man and make him beta, weak and pathetic. Masturbation, porn and ejaculation can take the life blood, the masculine and sexual energy out of a man, however I have not come to a conclusion if this is chemical or emotional. I think it is both but it should not be emotional. The masculine and sex energy is strong and I should hold on to it as it makes me more attractive.

    - To not objectify women and have higer standards for personalty. Again that makes me more attractive and a harder catch, and that too is attractive.

    - Increased desire (and libido) for women. I love how I love and appreciate women more. Women are so much more admirable and so much more attractive.

    - More enjoyment of little things. PMO is like a drug, everything else become insignificant. Do not use.

    - To seek real women and relationships rather than satiating myself and wasting the energy on pixels on a screan.

    - No-PM gives me a strong reason to be my best version for the purpose of finding a special women.

    - I dont really care for 95% of those women in porn or if I like the girl the video (content) is crap. So I guess what im saying is im wasting my time when I could be doing working on a goal.

    - I also just find life is better but I wonder now with my new mindset would it still be better? Im not willing to find out, porn is something I dont want to do and retaining the seman is something I want to do. ( New foum?)

    Now I could put down,
    No regret, guilt, shame
    More confidence and self esteem
    Be more sociable
    Better eye contact
    Stronger voice

But these thigs I feel are related to regret, guilt and shame because of the stigma, religion and society but if your a strong moral free thinker you should realize and I or nobody should feel those things.

I think that really comes from fapping too often and needing to fap because of stress and escape rather than libido and because of that, not getting a proper hard on to my full potential. I find that if I am horny and I do find a good video and enjoy it, there is no shame.

So how about you. Have I missed something? Why is it you dont want to view porn? My appologies to those people in previous thread I had to delete. I invite you please to post again here. Id like to respond to you guys. I appreciated your responses and did thumb you up. Share it for the whole board to see, consider and discuss. Lets work this out together. :emoji_tophat::emoji_key::emoji_mailbox::emoji_battery::emoji_black_nib::emoji_bellhop::emoji_bar_chart::emoji_ballot_box::emoji_gem:

It messes with your brain and dopamine release / receptor sensitivity.
For this reason alone I'll never engage in porn again. Also, because it releases so much dopamine there is a massive chance for becoming addicted (so "moderating" porn in my opinion it never really works out in the long term.)

Yourbrainonporn has a good overview

I'm not going to persuade you. I see how it positively impacted me, thus I'd recommend it. Why don't you just try it? I see your goal as reasonable and I think that you would experience a shift in perspective in the process.

Try moderating porn? I have man, it just never works out - every time there is always a need for more and my plan for once a week masturbation just turns into 3 times... 4 times.. soon back to everday.

Then again I'm also an addict to it - other people could potentially moderate.. but why would you want to? Real sex is so much better than porn.

I'm ashamed of it because of the stigma that is attached to it. When people know they will laugh at you, think of you as a 'low life loser'

  7. Nah, we cant moderate porn, forget it.

Iv tried the one a week thing, it doesnt work, if its an option you will use it and you will do it some time from day 3-4 onwards.

Yeah thats most people. Thing is, you should reread my post, it doesnt matter what other people think, I use to need external validation and cared too much what people think because of low self esteem.

Firstly, every single guy faps and a lot of girls do just not as often because its easier for guys to reach orgasm, some girls cant, also guys are more visual and get turned on like a light switch, girls are more like a volume knob. In 2018 every guy has a broadband connection and they are watching porn and nobody knows how often they view or how often you view it.

Your reasons for doing NoFap should not be related to guilt, regret, shame, I had those reasons too. Know that porn is not bad, its just pleasuring yourself. Its more pleasure than you would get outside of drugs and alcohol and sky diving, so whats so bad? I think you should go back and re-read the OP because its affecting you and so many other guys and shame dude, its the worst thing in the world, it affects everything.

I see it the same as with refined sugar. Having an apple with your lunch? I can see how it can be considered healthy. Hitting 6th candy bar in a row? Probably not so much.

I agree guilt and shame are useless. On top of that, they often lead to depression and anxiety, which really aren’t helpful when you have to solve a problem.

PMO is a problem, energetically. Stop for awhile and you’ll see. At a low frequency, it won’t be a big problem.

But the higher the frequency of PMO, the harder it is to muster your full energy for anything and everything.

Does caffeine and gambling release as much dopamine and fuck your receptors, because I have caffeine occasionally (once a fortnight, give or take) but I always use it when I got something important or I want to have a good workout and I can go off it. Same with gambling, but I feel huge amounts of dopamine from gambling, but I can tell myself I won't do it tomorrow and after that I don't crave it, but if I have any porn I crave it

    Off PMO, life is easier.

On full-time PMO, the dopamine receptors have down-regulated, and now it’s harder to get psyched for anything. Chores are way worse, and the good things in life are duller.

Maybe a little, maybe a lot— for me, the amount of energy PMO sucks out of life is related to the frequency of the PMO.

PIED, which makes you feel like you should more be the little baby to the woman you share your bed with, rather than her lover.

  13. I know where you are :) On nofap, great! but still not wanting to give up that PMO.

Look at this from another point of view - if you weren't doubting porn whatsoever, if you didn't think it is bad in some way, you wouldn't be here. So, that is a success!
And now to your message - remember one thing, you can justify, persuade, and rationalize about everything!

Killing person is bad! -> well, it might be good if that person would kill me!
Lack of energy from PMO is enormous -> well, I am strong, I can cope with that!
... and sometimes you even attach stories to support your arguments... I will be laughed for watching porn -> well not! My friend objected that he respected me for my performance!

see what I am doing here? Somebody called this the doom of intelligent people, or the art of talkative ones - even if something is true or not, you can make a statement that makes it true... And many times it is just a self-deception, but we don't know, right?

No thoroughfare right there - meaning, if you want to stay with pmo (and I know it is hard to change this! but you can!) and you will think about every nofap reason like this, eventually, you will justify every reason as false, and get back to PMO. So, my fifty cents are there:

Be open-minded - accept that your opinion may be the best, but also also can be the worst, the most harmful and - FALSE

And, what has worked for me - read stories from other PMOers - Don't call it love, Your brain on porn book, and many others - from books, from reddit/forums [link reddit], from sections with failure reports etc - and know, that without stopping pmo you will get into same life situation sooner or later :)

man, you don't have to quit porn and masturbation - many people didn't, and they have survived, live life... 60 years, with job, with 1-2 children.. with relationships they hate, life that they hate - and, in the end, nobody ever remembers them - as they turn to ground in their basket nobody even prays for them, nobody thanks them for their life - or better said, they thank the god for removing him... heh :)

or you can - and you already have read the benefits... :)

so, the final decision is on you - if you want to quit porn - there are enough resources to make a strong conviction that porn is bad, enough support and enough everything to help you succeed in this journey... if not, it is your life and nobody from us has right to force you to another :) but remember that then you WILL harvest the seeds you sow today :)

and lastly :) if many people are telling something - there is huge chance they are right :) can be the direct opposite - as there are many lies on this society, but then you have to have strong proofs ;)

so, I wish you to make the best decision for you... :)
    good luck

I'm sorry for the late reply but gambling is much more stimulating than caffeine, yes.

If you MUST have caffeine then don't have it with sugar at all, i haven't had caffeine in a very long time - quiting does not impact life much at all and one a day from what i know is actually good for you (also as a workout stimulant.) So caffeine = little problem but gambling can easily get very bad.
