i feel a slight boost like in energy levels and confidence but apart from that i dont feel like im a new person like most feel like on their 30 day streak. i believe PMO is the issue since before i started PMO i was happy, confident and normal but im becoming more cynical of this program since 30 days hasn't changed much.

If you feel a slight boost in confidence and energy that’s better than nothing. Some people do take a bit longer. Especially it depends on what you watched and the length of time you spent watching.

Don't expect too much from just quitting porn. Positive changes come from positive actions, quitting porn is just to stop hurting yourself more.

I find the superpowers did not really apply to my case. Still worth quitting just to take control of your life and to save time, if for no other reason.

    Are you having sex?
Have you watched porn at all?
Have you quit porn, but continue to masturbate?
Do you let yourself get aroused?

I ask these questions because only proper abstinence gets you the good results.

Blood: I'm 50+ days into a reboot. My modus operandi was PMO once or twice a week for a LONG time. I haven't noticed anything physical from being PMO free, though I do feel different emotionally and psychologically. I like not feeling shame or guilt from acting out. I find I laugh more freely and wholeheartedly. I suppose there is more confidence simply from being able to deal with the urges and not act out.

At first, I was expecting to feel more libido, but that didn't happen. I realized that acting out was more habit than physiological need. That realization alone has been a tremendous help in going PMO-free for this long. A lack of libido could be connected with my age, though I cannot say for sure. In any case, other than that physical condition, no others.

I haven't had the change I would have wanted by now. I expected to feel mentally clear, physically full of energy, lots of chemistry with women, emotionally balanced... But I feel pretty crappy a lot of the time. And it's not my fault. It's the EMI, the industrial noise, hte pollution, the inconsiderate scum bag smokers, who don't seem to care how many innocent bystanders they subject to their awful fumes, and a host of child hood traumas. A lot of grief.

Oh, yeah, and no matter how far i go without PMO, I will always have a 4.5 inch reproductive organ. I mean, I gotta be F'ing kidding me. Why me, right? Why did I have to be born with a below average one. I mean, couldn't I at least have had 6 inches??? So, theres a lot of grief when I start to think of being in a relationship.

    Yes, I mean fantasising.

For nofap to actually work you can't watch porn, fap to anything, or fantasise. If you do any of these you will lose the benefits, this is why you don't feel like nofap isn't working.

any tips on how to stop fantasising?

does 3 second random mental glimpses of sex cancel out all the benefits?

Buddhists have a technique called mindfulness which is based on the principle of not reacting to your thoughts. When sexual desire arises you don't suppress the thought you allow thoughts to come and go.

Thr benefits of nofap are from semen retention and what some people don't realise is that you can lose your semen even without ejaculating. Sperm and semenal fluid are two separate things and are stored seperately within the body. When the body prepares itself for sex the sperm and semenal fluid are mixed together, at which point it is lost and can not be regained.

The process that I describe is not so much an instant thing, the longer you become aroused and the more you are stimulated the greater the loss. If you happen to dwindle on a thought by accident, then you aren't going to lose anything. It's when you are actively seeking sexual stimulation whether it'd be fantasising or looking at arousing images and your body starts preparing itself for sex.

I've read a lot about the subjects of PMO and recovery, but unfortunately cannot provide the exact source/citation for what I'm about to mention: For some people it's a longer process; up to 3-4 months depending on your age, or longer. If Internet porn caught you during your formative years, then it takes longer. If you're older, and spent the formative years without Internet, recovery could arrive faster. If I find the appropriate link I'll pass it on.

The point of recovery for me was never to develop superpowers, although that would be cool. My goals are rather narrow, ordinary, and boring.

    1. I want my erections back, and the ability to fully enjoy myself with a woman.
    2. I would like to regain the energy I lost because of PMO.
    3. I would like to experience the clear-thinking and extreme focus I once had.
    4. I would like the return of my confidence.

So for me, it's all about recovering what I had. I permitted this thinking disease to rule my life. I want my life back.

I wish you the best on your journey. 30 days is awesome!

    Redirect, don't block.

I use the "bounce" method. As soon as I get the forming of a thought, I bounce over to different goal and focus on that.
I could imagine myself getting my gym clothes on for a workout...and then doing it. I hit the gym, or go for a walk. I turn the sexual energy toward a different target. Some times I rage clean the apartment, LOL. I get some amazing stuff done when I redirect my sexual energy.

Give it a different target. Someone may wonder why you're vacuuming the living room while sporting an erection, but ultimately, a clean carpet is better than PMO.

Harness the energy. Experiment directing it toward stupid and wacky things you need to get done. Bonus points if it's something physical. Get your whole body moving, not just your penis. :)

    Good luck on your journey.
