    Hello to all,

I see that most of the threads here focused on porn addiction. Yet I want to ask whether some of you experience/d also this thing: whenever there is some female character in a Hollywood blockbuster film or some SCI-FI series, who is affectionate towards the main male character, the viewer (me) necessarily identifies not only with the main hero but also with the affection (love/sex) he has with the woman alongside him. And this experience create an incredible lust for that female character, because, as you know, the film actresses are damn beautiful. And so these fantasies then trigger the MO - making you addicted on your fantasies (=> masturbation addiction).

I argue that effects of this can be similar to PMO. Living in the virtual world. What do you think?

My solution: I don't watch Hollywood movies or TV at all. YouTube is much better, because I can control the program. And when it comes to news, I get those from the internet. That gives you complete control of what you take in(especially if you use K9 or something similar to block out porn).

As you can see on my counter, I still struggle. But when I relapse, it's not because I watched some lewd scene from TV or movies that triggered and tempted me. In order to relapse, I have to jump through a couple of hoops to even access porn because of the K9. That gives me time to reconsider.

I'm going to try not to preach about morality, ethics and whatnot, because people are different and are here for all kinds of reasons. But in my personal opinion, the values espoused in Hollywood movies and most of the stuff they broadcast on TV, is not only degrading and hypersexualizing women, but it's also stereotyping men into lazy good for nothings who only drink beer, watch sports and who have no ambition but to fuck every woman there is. Or it promotes rat-race attitudes where someone else has to fail in order for you to succeed. It's always about fucking someone over in some kind of way. These values are absorbed by your subconscious.

So again, I don't want to preach morality or anything, but the Hollywood values, which are hypersexual don't-achieve-just-consume kind of values, they affect you on a subconscious level. So in my opinion, it's best to just block it out.

And again, I don't know why you are here, your views etc so I can only speak for myself. But I feel that cutting the Hollywood stuff and instead taking in media that values women as human beings and encourages men to achieve things and be creative, not just consume and release all the time, that it increases my disgust towards porn all the more and makes me more fervent about stopping it.

Whatever road you take I wish you success!

Anyway, the point I wanted to get across is that Hollywood movies in general are very basal and primal when it comes to values, and when you are trying to quit and addiction that operates on your most basal desires, it might be a good idea to seek higher ideals. That doesn't have to mean religion, just something that encourages you to improve your character. And that's not something I see a lot of in Hollywood movies.
