I agree with you that he shouldn't have said it this way. But without Jesus who came here to save us, you cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Sin cannot abide with God's Holiness, simply because he's pure. And in his love, he sent Jesus so that whoever believes in him can inherit the Kingdom of God. This is the gospel. You have free will, either to associate yourself with darkness, or come to Jesus and be cleansed of it all.

Luke 11:13 says "So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him."

And in Joel 3 it says that in the last days God will pour out of His Spirit on all flesh. What I learned from all I have gone through, and the Word of God is that you need to genuinely repent which means to make a decision to stop going in your old ways, and turn to God, choose to believe in Jesus, who bore our sins and iniquities and ask the Holy Spirit to come. He will only come when you are genuine about your repentance and will to change your life. He cannot be manipulated. He was sent to help us. Many people don't receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and that's because there isn't a genuine repentance in their heart. Seek the Lord in private, repent, and ask for the gift of the Holy Ghost. And you will receive.

  6. Congrats bro, your doing well on the journey. I hope you never relapse since it's not worth it and I hope that you see further success in the future. Just stay under God's watch and never come back to that filth again!

P.S. I'm also a christian too but I mainly did NoFap because of the damaging effects of porn and I just wanted to be free, but my love with God did help me to never relapse during my streak.

There's no way I will ever relapse. The Baptism of the Holy Ghost really changed me. He changed my desires, and now there's power and freedom in my life.

  12. @L1ttl how long have you been clean? I'd say you have to be clean for at least 2 years before you can say you're completely free. If that's the case then great but if not I'd urge caution.

Personally I tried the religious route and it didn't matter how often I prayed or got prayed for. It didn't matter how often I read the Bible or went to church I still had the problem. I think you don't need God to do NoFap. Don't get me wrong I still have some sort of faith and of course if God helps you that's good.

Be careful @L1ttl. I was reading back through my journal recently. I had two very difficult patches after 350 and 450 days. I think we are addicts forever but with continued work we can stay clean. Stay vigilant. Good luck.

Well, you don't seem to understand what it is I'm talking about here. It's not about religion, it's about relationship. Your faith isn't the problem, your unbelief is.

Luke 11:13 - "So if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
This gift is open for you just as it is to anyone else. All you have to do is repent sincerely (change your direction) and ask for His Spirit.

Sorry, but even if you're clean for 20 years I don't agree with you. Either you're clean by your own works, or you're clean by God's grace. I found out that being clean by your own works doesn't fix your problem. Lust still remains in your heart, so it doesn't matter if you give in to pornography or not, so long as your heart isn't changed then the core issue remains. And only Jesus can change the heart.

    Romans 6:
12 Therefore, never let sin rule your physical body so that you obey its desires. 13 Never offer any part of your body to sin’s power. No part of your body should ever be used to do any ungodly thing. Instead, offer yourselves to God as people who have come back from death and are now alive. Offer all the parts of your body to God. Use them to do everything that God approves of. 14 Certainly, sin shouldn’t have power over you because you’re not controlled by God’s laws, but by God’s favor.

15 Then what is the implication? Should we sin because we are not controlled by God’s laws but by God’s favor? That’s unthinkable! 16 Don’t you know that if you offer to be someone’s slave, you must obey that master? Either your master is sin, or your master is obedience. Letting sin be your master leads to death. Letting obedience be your master leads to God’s approval. 17 You were slaves to sin. But I thank God that you have become wholeheartedly obedient to the teachings which you were given. 18 Freed from sin, you were made slaves who do what God approves of.

I can wholeheartedly say and mean it - I'm no longer a slave to sin. It has no dominion over me. That's only because Jesus is alive. So long as I remain in relationship with Him, this sin will never have power over me, as is any other sin. I now preach the gospel, heal the sick in the name of Jesus and drawing near to God. While I do appreciate you guys warning me, I do not agree one bit. When you receive the Holy Ghost, these temptations crumble. I tried battling pornography for three and a half years on my own. Maximum I got was 3 weeks but I was always thinking about it. By God's grace - I am free!

God bless you all, and may He give you an understanding of His goodness and what He has to offer to you today.
