    Hello Fellow Fapstronaut Brothers/Sisters,

I am new to the NoFap universe, but not far from my Journey being over with PMOing. It has been a tough few years binge watching that Dehumanizing garbage, but I also know that the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem, which is why I Joined NoFap nation. It has been a week since I last relapsed. You know the routine:

Relapse= Temporary Joy = Hopelessness = Depression = ( I'm gonna start anew and last 90 days) = Relapse all over again followed by laziness.

That is my current cycle every time I last one freakin week. I think my problem is that I don't have a plan (and I am open to any). I have read many threads on lots of different websites, and have studied the withdrawal symptoms of many, and most were nonetheless common so to speak, and some utterly disturbing ( involving those dreams you wouldn't even tell at a campfire.) The S**t is scary i'm telling you.

This is my first introduction post, so someone walk me through, even if there is a canonizing stage here I want to know. Especially the PMO life Hacks.

For me the most important things have been:

    - study the materials on yourbrainonporn.com. Getting a better understanding of what porn does to the brain has really helped me avoid it and to stay clean.

    - list the things that seem to trigger urges and try to stay away from those. Find something meaningful to do around the house, excercise etc instead.

Tomtom seems to have that about right. When I first joined, I took my inspiration from the Success Stories; they were - and still are the most motivating thing for me. Since then I've started doing a few more things:

    - Cold showers
    - Reading
    - Going out regularly

These have helped keep my mind distracted from the thought of PMO. Changing from hot to cold showers was the best thing I've done so far in my opinion; saves on water and gas, less time in the shower means more time to do other things, and the temptation to relapse is nowhere to be seen while you're in there. Plus you feel like the manliest man in the world when you manage to push through them.

    - I now post on NoFap every night
    - Creating my counter

    These help keep me motivated.

    - I started meditating recently

This has proved useful to me already as it teaches you to block out certain thoughts and focus on more positive/productive things.

When you get the urge to relapse, I've found music has helped me the most; it takes my mind away from it almost instantly. The NoFap Emergency Button has helped me out a bit as well. That's about all I have. Good luck, stay strong. :)
