If I'm honest, I've been in relapse since Easter. Only lasted 2-4 days at a time since then.

I'm taking my recovery from a Roman Catholic perspective so I'm looking at removing the near occasions of sin.

    What I've done so far
    • moved my laptop to a public space in the house
    • deleted the only browser felt comfortable using to look at porn
    • placed icons in my bedroom (place where I masturbated usually) and a crucifix where my laptop is now
    • been enrolled in the brown scapular
    • pray the rosary daily
    • read at least an hour of the Liturgy of the Hours daily

What am I missing/is the problem?
    • I ignore all my protocols when I am alone at home
    • It is a slippery slope for me.

What I plan on doing moving forward
    • try my best to eliminate time alone
    • minimize my time online to 30 min a day
    • only get on my laptop when other people are home
      • if this is unavoidable (work related) try to go in public area out in the world and do it/do it on phone

In short I'm going to take a kind of fast from my laptop/the internet. For at least 40 days I think. After the 40 days (Tuesday, Sept 4, 2018), I will see where I'm at and reassess.

If anyone has any input or advice or encouragement, feel free to comment. It would help I think if people replied. Even though this is a forum, I feel sometimes that this is a vacuum.

I find that what gets me isn't necessarily being home alone (even though it might seem like it at first), but rather the discipline and willpower to spend my time in a good way, doing things like praying, reading, exercising, getting chores done, etc. Because it's so much easier to just lay in bed browsing the internet.
