Using PMO to hide/run from emotions

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Aug 17, 2018.

  1. Yea it's an incredibly tough thing to conquer. If we expect to do this with no feelings of pain and or hardship were set to stay. I figured I needed to list my behaviours first in order to see why I'm miserable. Anxiety and shame being my 2 main reasons for escape.

So if those are underlying the pmo will always be the go to escape we choose.

Why do people use heroin until they die? Why can some stop. Because they accept their emotions and fight through. They know it's going to be hard, they know that the other life is worth the temporary pain. Because it is just that. It's temporary.

We have to want that pot at the otherside of the rainbow enough to endure the pain to take us there

    Nothing in life us easy.

We will be angry.sad frustrated. Lonely. Tired. Exhausted......but this is something we have to feel and pass through.

Please guys....do something similar. Write down the life you have on one side, the negatives and pluses. And on the other write down the benefits of nofap and the new life you are trying to achieve.

Like saving up for a first home or car. It's hard but we make sacrifices to get to that goal.

    Take care guys

  2. I did the same. Went with pmo like most people and got scared after first emotional relationship ended not in my favour. I then decided to stick with pmo as I wouldn't get hurt that way......what a mistake

Don't ever condamn yourself. As long as you're doing something to fix what you did before, you mustn't be harsh towards yourself. Recognize your faults, admit them, but don't crucify yourself

  4. That's a kind thing to say. Your right though. I accept the mistakes I made and no longer punish myself for them

Yes, it's about the progress. Not about the streak. We somehow fall to that trap when we recover, too.
