  1. I ask this because in my mind, this has been one of the justifications for porn being "OK". Like on top of the sexual appeal, there's also an aesthetic appeal to looking at porn. The aesthetic appeal of porn lies exactly in it's "unnaturalness". Porn is "interesting" from an aesthetic point of view. I created this thread not because I want to argue that porn is "OK", but rather I want to deal with and confront this "justification" which is no doubt conjured up by my "porn brain". LOL It may very well be that porn is in fact "art", but that still does not make it OK for me to look at it. What do people think?

  2. My friend, why would you ask this question on a porn hating forum?

This is like asking if stock civics with masive wings are cool on a car tuning forum lol.

Anything can be considered art, so I would answer yes on that basis.

  3. Porn ain't an art. But a corruption.

  4. So what you're saying is I'll probably get a lot of "no" votes on here
I probably posted it because I'm a porn addict and I don't know any better LOL
I'm probably just looking for some intellectual discussion about this issue

I think nudity is art. Naked bodies are beautiful and were wired as a species to acknowledge that and there’s no need to fight that.

However as a PMO addicts we don’t see this beauty for what it is. We use it for selfish pleasure and abuse ourselves in the process. Imagine going to a fancy art gallery with a bunch of van gough paintings and jerking off to them, lol, thats basically what we do. We use it for pleasure rather than appreciate the beauty.

So I guess the answer is yes for me, but. It doesn’t really matter cuz of my relationship to it isn’t healthy.

  7. Wow mate I am happy and encouraged about your streak!
Back to the topic, according to your comment, in your opinion, do you think that a random person can balance looking at nudity anywhere and anytime and living normally without fapping ? (let's suppose this person like me Single :p ) I really can't imagine it to be anything else than triggers. Maybe we confuse between (Beauty/Gorgeous and Sexy/Hot ) scenes :p

  8. I think porn is the opposite of art.

  9. I think you were really bored when you made this thread. With it, you aren^t helping neither you, neither us. When i think at all the good things that i could have done in my past instead of „paying attention to this art” i get pissed off. I can only see porn like a drug and a big mistake in my life. No art.

  10. I like your take on this Roshi.
PG93, yes I would totally agree that I was bored when I created this thread! Spot on! But that's the point! We use porn as a cure for boredom. So, the solution is to find other, better ways to deal with boredom. Such as having an intellectual discussion about, for example, whether or not porn is art. Not for everybody though, I'll give you that
Here is my take on this issue, I think. I think all porn, including internet porn, amateur, whatever, is art. I know I'm going to get a lot of "huh?! how can you say that!" type of responses, but hear me out. Let me explain:
I can really only speak to internet porn (and magazines a long time ago), because that is all I have really had experience with, though I know porn has been around in different forms through all of history. Most porn on the internet is unnatural, or artificial, in its depiction of sex. That's what makes it art. Internet porn is still a relatively new "form" of art, as it's "medium" (the internet) is also relatively new. Porn has been around a long time, but internet porn is something completely "new". Internet porn creates a virtual fantasy world, where clicking on one of an infinite number of porn videos or pictures is to enter a window in to that "world". That sort of "alternate porn universe" is part of what makes internet porn "art". And porn is going to continue to develop as an art form, as technology continues to develop and offer new "mediums". Another thing that makes internet porn "art", is that it is a kind of performance art that also sucks you, the viewer, in to the performance. So when you're binging on porn, and masturbating to it, you are participating in the "performance art" of the whole thing. No doubt that the internet porn stars and porn directors of today see themselves as "artists". They see themselves as the "Van Goghs" of today. It all sounds pretty sick right? It is.
But if one looks back on art history, one will see all kinds of movements, styles, forms, coming and going, acting and reacting to one another. Think of the history of popular music, which we are all familiar with, with all the different styles coming and going, traversing the 50's, 60's, 70's, up to the present. What's good about art? It's power to inspire, interest, and express. Unfortunately, as somebody who is both an intellectual and a porn addict, porn has far too often been a source of artistic "inspiration", "interest", and "expression" for me. And so the point about art history and different styles and forms, etc., is that maybe it's time for me to leave behind porn as an art form, and get my artistic "kicks" elsewhere. Like maybe it's time for me to learn how to play guitar like I've been wanting to. LOL And find avenues for intellectual discussion too

  11. You seem to be a smart and an insightful person. I really do not understand you don*t you concentrate your mind and energy on something productive and beneficial for you. Learning to play on guitar will be a nice option. I am a medical student so i think i can manage an intellectual discution about porn but from a biological point of view-in which case i can only put porn on a bad spot. I wish you all the best with your journey of no PMO and i hope you see porn as it is: a drug used by some people on us (predisposed to this addiction) to make a lot of money.

  12. Yeah I know, I do need to concentrate my mind and productive powers on something else, you're right LOL. I agree that from your biological point of view, that binging on porn is similar to a drug, and should be avoided

It’s an interesting topic. Cuz for nearly 12 years I assumed I would always be controlled by sexual desire and would be a slave to it. And now I’m not, it’s strange; completly foreign to me.

I think seeing nudity with new motivation, or having a new relationship with sexual desire can effect how we react to it. For me currently. Women are beautiful, sexy, make me aroused, as do pictures and sex scenes. But more and more this arousal is being tied to emotional connection with someone rather than ravenous sexual acting out as a form of escape.

I have a desire to connect with people on an emotional level; like literally talk with them and get to know them, rather than seeing them from afar and sexually objectifying them. Yes I still find people sexy, but it’s a much more real life experience instead of a sexually selfish impulse.

And lastly I can take it or leave it. I don’t have that magnetic pull towards PMO. So things don’t “trigger” me. There are things that make me aroused, but my arousal isn’t connected to addictive sexual desire.

It’s kinda dificult to explain cuz it’s so new to me. I’m not even sure what it feels like. So I hope that makes some sense.

  15. I agree with you in some point. That I believe, Naturally and Normally, we shouldn't view females (and vice versa) in a sexual way, objectify them or look at them as a dot of sexual temptations. We should view them emotionally, and I would specify that with love and respect. I think it is our human nature to feel emotional toward someone. but when it comes to sexual temptations that is supposed to be restricted to the relationship that happens between a man and a woman. Else than that is an infringement that imbalances our nature.

  16. Furthermore, a trigger is a trigger.. if she wears bras and she is expecting me to see her nothing then i am someone who has problems too. So each person should take his part, a lady should wear well, and then I am supposed to treat her as my comment above. but if she wears bad, then she is partnering in the infringement.

Porn is just like a frog on a cross resembling Jesus that someone said is art. That simile is going to be hard to beat for bizarreness.
