What my friend recomended besides magnesium was fish oil and alot of ginger. Cant say I see a change for me from it. What did work though was when my doctor prescribed sumatriptan. That was kind of a life changer for me - literally. Unfortunately not a natural product. If you have recurrent migraines you should ask your doctor about it. (Sorry for the off-topic everyone!)

Yea magnesium can help for migraines along with a few other supplements- buterbur, riboflavin, feverfew.

If you get real migraines and get them pretty infrequently then I would also recommend sumatriptan. It is definitely helpful when I feel a migraine coming on, makes it less intense. I personally wouldn't use it too often though.

Those supplements including magnesium (look for magnesium citrate) can be helpful in preventing migraines in some people

I was using 400mg of magnesium citrate before bed but it made run to the toilet in the middle of the night. I just switched to 100mg mg glycinate tablets so I can titrate up. I just took one with butterbur and it's seems like it has helped the migraine I woke up with today.

It helps with muscular pain and tiredness. Many nutritionists recommend that you take Mg sourced from sea water.

It's a week that I'm taking magnesium citrate 400mg. It makes me so tired and sleepy! I can't get out of bed. I won't take it from tomorrow!! I don't know why these symptoms happen!

I switched to magnesium glycinate because the high dose mg citrate was messing with my system. Get highly absorbable stuff in 100mg tablets. Then you can titrate up. I was almost shitting the bed at night from 400mg doses. Also start with 100mg in the morning and 100mg in the evening.

  16. Paradoxical reactions to supplements happen. You're probably taking it too frequently. If it makes you feel all sluggish and exhausted that's a clear sign your liver has a hard time breaking it down.
If that's the case it would be a good idea to take it like once every week just to get a trace amount in your system. Then go from there.

The body has a certain idea of what nutrients it needs and in what amount. If you're already weak because of pmo withdrawal, your body will have a hard time adapting to changes in levels of minerals and electrolytes. In that case it's best to introduce supplements very very slowly.

If you have problems like adrenal fatique, consider putting yourself on a ketogenic, gaps or paleo diet so as to support your immune/detox system. Combine this with intermittent fasting and your liver will literally purge out all of its toxins and stones. Just don't starve yourself and make sure to eat a lot of protein. Any type of simple carb will freeze your metabolism. I've been told wheat (bread, cereals etc.) is particularly hard on the adrenal glands. Fructose is another anti-nutrient you should avoid. Especially if you feel anxious or depressed (prevents formation of serotonin).

As Hippocrates once said, let food be your medicin. The right diet can make quite the difference.

Never forget, nofap is the best supplement. No supplement will ever replace the right lifestyle. Abstinence for however long you may need is the only true solution.
