  3. I would have to know where my money is going first. I would need to see the benefits of doing so and apply a monetary value upon such an action. I would then give that monetary amount (or less if I feel like it) to the website.

I have no idea where my mulla headed to, do you?

If there was a set plan of putting this money to something of relative value, like a phone app. I would give some money. But again, unsure of where this money is going. Maybe some guys bank acct

  4. I'm sure some of it will go into some guy's bank account. Personal choice, but I am glad someone put in the effort to start up this site.

  5. Actually the money will go solely to keeping this site online. Alexander currently pays most of the expenses of keeping this site online out of his own pocket. The rest of the moderation team ,except one, are volunteers.

  6. Hence my donation. I think we sometimes think that stuff exists in the world by accident. People make this site and they deserve credit.

  7. I'm sure hosting cost a decent amount. Server space? Is that a thing? Is NoFap a non profit? Is my monthly contribution tax deductible? Maybe they could blast a financial report for transparency to monthly donors. Now I have so many questions. I'm sure it pales in comparison to dollars spent in the porn industry. I would be interested to know if it is hosted by companies who also host porn sites. Maybe there is no way to operate cleanly in this regard, but just a thought.

  8. I chose to not do the subscription as that page didn't give me information about how to stop the subscription, plus the formatting didn't look good. With financial things, we need to have trust. I had to donate because this site is the only thing that I have ever seen that teaches us to control our sex drive. Well done Alexander.

  9. I completely agree. The libertarian in me believes in paying for value and I see a clear value. Also I like the voluntary aspect of pay if you want. Non coercion. I wish that tons of things were like this. I actually like paying for things if I can and it's obvious they benefit me.

  10. It's through PayPal so there is an easy way to opt out.

  11. @Max Fisher I am in no position to speak for the organization as I only assist in moderating the site. However, Alexander posted the details of the operation costs before in a thread but unfortunately a user turned it into a heated argument so I think Alexander deleted the thread. But, I do vaguely remember that he said that NoFap pays for 9 servers, the webhost and one full time employee that gets paid under market among other costs.

  13. And the paypal page offers monthly repetition too. I just think people should
I seriously would suggest at least a little advertising, even if it is relevant partners. This stuff is important.

  14. Advertising the costs of operating the site?

  15. Great thread! I would push this every couple of weeks to raise awareness or even hit everyone's inbox with some of this info.

  16. Nope. Minimal advertising in general. To generate revenue. Maybe not for pornhub.

  17. Alexander said in that deleted thread, I wish it was still here, that there are only two categories of partners who will be interested to advertise here: the porn industry :D and porn-blocking software firms. As for the second category, He said that he doesn't want to rely on a single source of ads or something like that. I wish he sees this thread and participates instead of me trying to remember what he said but I know he is usually super busy.

  18. I've been a monthly subscriber for years. I wish others would do this to ease the financial burden borne by @Alexander.
Just because my single contribution makes little difference overall, there is still a need to make a financial contribution. :)

  19. Advertising is a wonderfully broad thing. I doubt if most big business would pay to advertise here, but we are clearly a group of people that have certain ideas. Which is always profitable. Don't tell Karl Marx.

  20. I'm pretty sure I used to donate on a subscription basis, and I remember correctly, it was totally fine and not hard to cancel. Just so you know, in case you're wondering about it.
