Greetings. To be brief: I'm 26, been PMOing for most of my life. I have all the common problems: objectification of women, social anxiety, and, of course, the desire to stop but so far not the willpower. Looking forward to what this new journey has in store!

    Hello Sir,

I'm joining today too -- was about to start my own intro thread, but I noticed not too many people are getting replies. So instead, I thought I'd say hi, and... well, glad to meet you and have you for company on the journey!

Just wanted to welcome both of you to nofap.

Today you start your journey to your new lives and I couldn't be happier for you guys. I'm not sure how much knowledge you have about porn addiction so I just wanted to share with you a few points that helped me kick this thing off.

First of all if you haven't checked out yourbrainonporn.com definitely do it. Research it hard, I mean everything. There's a lot of great info on there and it'll help you get started as there's different levels to porn addiction. Know your enemy well and you will be given every tool to beat it.

Write down some goals for yourself. Where do you envision your life in the following weeks, months, and years. Write a lot. Anything you can think of. It can be pages if you want. Trust me I've got pages of scribbling I often refer too. These goals will be your focus throughout your reboot. Next write down why you must absolutely beat this addiction. Why must you reboot? Develop an indestructible belief in yourself and attack these goals. As you progress your confidence will begin to sky rocket.

Come to these forums. Read people's stories. Everybodies experiences can be quite helpful in making you realize your not alone. Definitely start a journal. I find its a good way to vent.

I know you guys can do this shit. You will beat this addiction. Porns a nasty bitch and we don't need her anymore. She's not an option for us anymore. Get up and tell yourself you will never pmo again. I know you can do this. Let's go boys!!!

If you need to talk to someone my door is always open.

    Good luck to ya both,

    Nulife

Hi people, I have been reading about the NoFap, watched lots of videos and visit some web sites about this. I relapsed an hour ago, it was my third attempt and lasted only one week. I thought I could do this by myself but now I am losing motivation and maybe I need the support of the community and write about this.

In your same boat. Just knowing that you and I are not the only one is reassuring. One week is a hell of a start, so no need to down yourself too much on relapse. Just try to make it two this time. Keep setting yourself up for success vs. failure.

Thanks for those tips to get started, Nu Life! I started a journal, and I think up next is shoring up reasons to stop this. Been feeling for years that I should, but actually buckling down and doing it is a different thing. And so the question is: What am I going to do differently this time?

@LastInca: hang in there, man. I think getting torn up about falling is worse than falling itself. Just dust off your pants and begin again. That's what I'm trying to do, anyway.

Thanks for weighing in everybody. The info on YBOP and Gary Wilson's TED Talk are pretty sobering, but I've never been more optimistic! We're all in this together!
