Made it to 30 days PMO free. I am so proud I have made it to this point so far. Being a long term addict for almost 30 years I have seen and done it all. The longest I ever made was 12 days and always threw in the towel once I relapsed. Always making excuses. I know so much lies ahead of me but I am looking forward to reaching my next milestone and the ones after that and after that. I thank everyone for support. I enjoy reading everyone’s success stories as it gives me hope. By no means am I a master but I would like to share what I did this time that I never did in the past that made me get to the point I am at. Hopefully this will help someone looking for freedom. I also will list some new goals I plan to add on this journey and what I have felt.

    Making it to 30 days
    • Daily Prayer
    • Church attendance weekly
    • Found a porn addiction coach with weekly meetings
    • Found an AP I can be accountable to and trust
    • Extremely minimal tv. ( watched a few nfl games and coverage on hurricane Florence. That is it)
    • No instagram
    • No Facebook
    • No gym ( last time this was actually more of a trigger. There are way too many women to stare at)
    • Reading
    • Watching inspiring videos on nofap and reading articles. Expanding my knowledge and understanding the addiction
    • No drugs or alcohol( except for my anxiety and depression meds which do help of course)
    • Made sure I was never alone with myself!
I think the biggest thing that helped me this time around honestly was staying away from social media. The amount of triggers is astounding. I would recommend for anyone to go hard mode. I basically did and what a difference it makes. I don’t really miss it either. A complete waste of time. Also, never being alone in such a delicate stage was super important. I was always with someone or in a situation where I couldn’t PMO.

What I hope to accomplish moving forward the next 30-60 days
    • learn meditation and dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to it
    • Start an exercise regimen but at home. I have plenty of fitness equipment not being used just calling out to me. I still feel lazy but not as much as I did before
    • Change the way I eat
    • Continue reading self help books or other non fiction books to help better myself and well being
    • Continue with my addictions coach with weekly meetings and group meetings once a week as well

The positive things I have noticed in the first 30 days are

    • depression and general anxiety are slightly decreased
    • More present when conversing with others
    • Less lazy
    • Less tired
    • Kinder and more understanding/forgiving

Not a huge difference but a start. As my AP told me “progress not perfection”

    Thanks for listening

Congrats on your sobriety @Porn No More ! This is amazing news, and such a thorough and informative post. Some of the things you mentioned are things I've implemented or want to implement into my recovery program. Great post and great work! God willing, tonight I will complete 7 days of continuous sobriety from Porn and chat apps, my biggest downfalls.

Well done, mate. That's great news.

You talked about not going to the gym which I find hard to comprehend because it's such an important part of my lifestyle. Do you think, especially now you have such a firm foundation, you could channel that sexual energy in a way that's healthy and useful instead of avoiding it all altogether?

Well I found it extremely difficult especially in the early stages of trying to recover because all of the sexy women at the gym. It was an easy trigger for me. I have professional equipment at home now so going to the gym will not be necessary and I can focus 100%

  10. Great to know you have made it to 30, it is my dream too. You have inspired me. I believe if you can do it we can all do it if we are in the right mindset.

Please keep going do not mess this up. And also I know you know urges will come, yes urges will really come hard at you with a vengeful style but always remember the bad feeling you get after you do this.
    Also remember always the benefits.

You surely sound like someone who is determined to stop.

    Good luck

  14. Sounds like me I had to get rid of all my social media, turn my internet off, and filter all porn sites and private search engines. I need a coach who's yours?

I'm not religious myself, but maybe the Muslims were onto something...I use to have a really hot ex and I would often joke with her to wear a hijab so nobody could look at her
