Pro-Tips for School Stress?

    I'll be back in post-secondary tomorrow for another term, and I'm in a really intense program that's HIGH stress. Meaning late nights even when I'm at the top of my game, plus 8 courses in a term.

    I tend to edge in order to cool off my stress. When I would get overwhelmed with assignments while in my bedroom, I'd 'take a break', jump on my bed and edge a little. Maybe watch some hentaicrap and finish (Then feel miserable and beat myself up and basically lose traction with assignments). Sometimes, I'd get headaches due to lack of sleep, or just because of so much going on, and I would edge in order to calm myself to sleep.

    I need alternatives. Healthier alternatives. What are effective ways for me to cool down after high stress, especially as a student? (An architecture student to be exact. Would love to hear how, if there are any, engineering or architecture student-fapstronauts deal with their urges.)

    Not a student of either of those subjects but Meditate and Deep Breathing will do you the world of good.
    If you're not getting a full night's sleep, Meditation will help flush the cortisol out of your body. Not to mention fixed point meditation (staring at a spot on the wall) has helped me infinitely in being in the present moment and focus solely on my study.

    Give it a shot. I generally do twenty minutes in the morning but for you, to take a break every hour or so and do five minutes would serve you well brother.

    Hmm

    I don't know, but everytime I'm stressed out with my assignments I always wash my face and my ear and somehow it makes my mind more clear..

    It always worked for me :)

    Hello bandanana, I guess we are kind of in the same boat there. I am and architecture student also and the routine is actually very hard to keep up. Sometimes I think that is one of the big deals that did not make me stop the MO activity.
    However I have some tips for you, since that I had/have the same problems. Some alternatives are walking/jogging for like 20/30 min to clean your brain up. I usually listen to some podcasts or music to keep concentrated at least in something external. Another alternative was taking a break to chat with my friends that were living with me, but that really depends on where you live.
    But keep strong.

    It's only the first week of class so I haven't been under any stress yet. XD I'll update you if anything.
